Sounds like they're not worthless, otherwise what were they doing at Lakewood? Would they prevent shootings? Probably not. |
Then don’t send your kid. MCPS’s decision is never going to please everyone. |
| MCPS is an incompetent bureaucracy. A ship of fools. They would f-up a one car funeral. |
| Acc to Reddit.. The kid who shot was being bullied and was beaten up by the kid he shot |
There are two different juvenile arrest records one listing a Rockville address and one listing a DC address. Did they arrest two kids or are these two separate events? |
yeah, I don't the trauma angle. Yes, this is a reminder that bad things sometimes happen. Kind of like when a student is killed walking to/from school. Would these people suggest closing school in those cases, too? |
| So is Thomas S. Wootton High School still #4 in the state |
That's because it's not an SRO but a CEO. A CEO does not stay inside the school nor walk the halls unless invited by the Principal. A CEO is shared with the cluster. Bring back SROs. |
Stop it. Violence can happen anywhere. |
| According to Reddit, the mom and sister drove the getaway car. Is this real? |
| I have mixed feelings about the school opening today. I am a Wootton parent. Most kids did not witness the shooting or even hear the gunshot. My daughter did not know the victim and only vaguely knew the shooter. For someone like her, there is no major trauma. But for kids who were a few feet away from the shooting, who witnessed it, I can't imagine them being able to come to school today. In an impossible situation, the school probably made the right call -- have the school open today but without actual instruction that could be missed by students who need to stay home today. It's a really hard call to make, I don't envy them. |
You mean CEOs are worthless. |
Agree, CEOs are worthless. Bring back SROs. |
In one of the streaming videos from a chopper, there was a woman in cuffs on Falls road where the shooter was also taken into custody. |
No, we don't need police in schools and they don't really stop shit like this from happening, anyway. See Uvalde or Parkland, for example. |
