Wow. They are charging people with "attempted threats" -- and those charges are not sticking. What is an attempted threat? I tried to threaten him but had a coughing fit in the middle of it? I shook my cane in his direction, but he couldn't see me from so far away? This is how they are bumping up the "arrest" numbers. They can arrest people for nothing -- how many people that the "surge" is arresting (as opposed to our usual MPD) are being convicted of serious crimes? Stop the dog and pony show and get back to normal, good, policing and rational prosecutions. It is terrible for civil order to undermine the justice system like this. |
| wtf is an āattempted threatā? is that a thought crime? |
Those folks seem to be a self correcting problem. How many are dead or back in jail? I hope that they arenāt breeding in the wild. |
He will be fine. |
Yes he is an American hero. His go fund me page is over 6 million. |
After rhey couldnāt get a felony hung on him they charged with a misdemeanor, trial starts tomorrow! Iām shocked that the victim has recovered from his injuries. https://www.nbcwashington.com/news/local/trial-starts-for-case-against-dc-man-who-threw-sandwich-at-federal-agent/4010217/# |
Predictions on the result? This seems insane⦠|
These MAGA seem determined to waste our tax dollars on cases to persecute people who disagree with them. |
Bingo. |
+1 Vindictive, anti-American a-holes. |

lol.
Border Patrol agent Lairmore testifies that he was not injured by the sandwich, but he felt the impact through his ballistic vest. The sandwich came apart and "kind of exploded" on his chest upon impact, he says. "I could smell the onions and mustard." |
whomp whomp |
| that's hilarious. i hope the jurors are laughing in his face. |
| Ok Iām going to play devilās advocate here. While I fully agree that the attempt to indict this as a felony was absurd, this is a simple assault all day. You cannot just go around throwing things at people you donāt like even if youāre throwing something that will not objectively cause injury. If the jurors apply the law as it relates to simple assault the deliberation in this should take less than 5 minutes. Should USAO have offered this guy some diversion or community service, absolutely, but this is a simple assault. |
