LOL, you keep telling yourself that. Trump specifically said to round up the homeless. Many of whom are simply down on their luck, others have severe mental issues that need treatment. None of that is happening here. the GOP has been cutting those services and programs since 1981.

I live in a building in Forest Hills. There has been violence on my floor and outside my building. Marijuana use is ubiquitous. My fellow senior citizen neighbors are regularly intimidated. It was not like this 10 years ago. I’m scared and tired of this, but have nowhere else to go. I hope this new effort helps, but I’m not optimistic. I’m glad you have a better life.

You live in a rental. There are 100s of places you could go when your lease is up. Move to Friendship Heights on the MD side where there are a gaziilion rentals if you want to be out of DC but only move a mile north.

This is actually a punishment for those in investigative units of federal law enforcement agencies. It's going to be very hot and humid again this week. Administration is telling them to come to heel, lest they get sent back out on street patrol swing shifts.

They are trying to instill compliance among federal LEOs.

Well, Forest Hills is known for being a cesspool. Probably the most dangerous zip code in DC. It’s near Tenleytown (gasp!).

The fact that you don't know indicates that you should not trust the news that you are consuming. Open Twitter and search on Navy Yard. Then search on Baltimore, an even worse story. Then search on Clarendon.

Well, since you are so well informed, why don't you update your audience here on DCUM on the news that you are referring to? It's a discussion forum. You can't demand that all participants in the discussion read twitter--or whatever else you think counts as a legitimate news source--before participating on this or any other thread.

Twitter isn't a news source, the individuals and organizations who post on Twitter are news sources. Twitter is just the best app for staying up to the minute on the topics I choose from the sources I choose. Anyway, the people who cover local DC news were all over the incident from last night, I haven't turned on the TV or radio yet but based on the lack of discussion here I'm guessing they aren't covering the story.

There was a shooting. A suspect was arrested. No injuries.
