If they had ran on that platform with Harris and geared it toward including Palestinians, Harris would have gotten more of the liberal Gen Z vote and possibly won.

Unless the next democratic nominee is willing to be more moderate on the key issues then the democrats better hope that the economy is a total mess. I believe the democrats lost the election on immigration and lying about Biden. The degree of the difference in approval ratings matter. The Democrats unfavorability ratings are at an all time high and their approval ratings not only much lower than Trump’s but also lower than the GOP’s (see Quinnipiac, WSJ, NBC - all show same thing). That’s flashing red alarm bells for the party.

Good thing for the Dems it's 2025 and Trump is actively tanking the GOP just like he did during his 1st term. Numbers don't lie and history repeats itself; especially in politics.

This kind of complacency is what gets Democrats to settle on weak candidates like Biden and Harris. It's just Trump. He's unpopular. He's dragging Republicans down. A win in '28 is guaranteed regardless of who Democrats choose. That seems to be the assumption that Democrats are settling into.

I am not so confident. Democrats have done nothing to address the deeply unpopular issues that have made it very difficult for them to win nationally. And If Republicans choose Marco Rubio as their nominee in '28, Democrats are going to have a very time defeating him with their roster of mediocre has-beens. It seems like everyone is banking that they'll be running against JD Vance. But I don't think that's happening. I think it will be Rubio. And Whitmer and Butiggieg and Newsome are not defeating Marco Rubio.

I think Democrats are pretty lost. Most people's experience with Democrats is at the local level. Think DC Council and school boards. Absolutely no one wants more social progressives. And that is the brand that Democrats are rolling with.

If Republicans go with a Adam Kinzinger, Mitt Romney, Nikki Haley kind of candidate, Democrats are toast. I honestly think the GOP is more fixeable at this moment in time. Democrats have lost the plot on a lot of issues. But I'm happy to see Sanders and AOC focusing on the working and middle class. I think economic issues are where it's at for Democrats. But they are going to be sucked into all the progressive BS, so it will be difficult for Democrats to connect with average American families.

Democrats could totally go left on economic issues. But encouraging illegal migrants, DEI, restorative justice, soft on violent crime, out of control public schools, young white men are terrible, and not even acknowledging that women are women is going to hit them. The biggest message Democrats have for most people is We Don't Like You. And you don't win elections that way.

Democrats need to find a candidate that can reject the progressive garbage that's killing them and get back to health care, the environment, income disparity and so on.

There are no Rs to run someone like Kinziger, Haley or Romney. The Republican party is dead. Maga is it. They should change the name of the party.
