Indeed. If wealthy lawyers of this moral caliber won't "stand up," who will?

Mr. Karp, who will remain at Paul Weiss, and a spokesman for Mr. Black did not respond to requests for comment.

“Leading Paul, Weiss for the past 18 years has been the honor of my professional life,” Mr. Karp said in the firm’s statement on Wednesday.

Taking over as chairman is Scott Barshay, the head of the firm’s lucrative corporate practice. In a statement on Wednesday announcing his appointment, Paul Weiss said Mr. Barshay had “over 30 years advising boards of directors and management teams on some of the most complex and highest-profile legal matters.

***Yes---this is the latest. Now we know why this formerly prestigious, powerful firm, kowtowed to Trump.
Trumps's mafia criminal empire had the "receipts" on the guy.

Yes, this law firm was compromised and bent over for Trump swiftly. However, does that also mean that the other law firms that capitulated without a whimper are also compromised like the Weiss law firm?

Perhaps. Or they were looking for an easy excuse to cave to political pressure and do the wrong thing. Paul Weiss was the first domino to fall.

So nothing. Whoever is allowing him to stay is just as complicit as anyone involved in the Epstein files. Again, this is more than sexual abuse. This is the absolute corruption of our institutions.

NP. Doesn’t anyone here work in big law and have intel? I highly doubt he’s staying on for long. This is likely a step down face saving cover

Why would this scumbag get the chance to save face? Millions of regular folks in this country have been fired without any favors so who is protecting these jerks?

I agree. I hope it’s just the firm buying a little bit of time to gather more information before firing him. I also hope they sue him for all he’s worth (or will this be more rich, white men protecting their own….????).

Lawyers stick together.

Not necessarily. Quite a few left PW (excuse me P,W) last year when Karp made the deal with Trump.
