As shown in a few of the rightous comments above, perception is reality for many people not in the know. The assumption goes that MLS is pro so MLSN must be tops. Also most don't realize that the MLSN academies operate on a complete level or league above the MLSN non academies. There is also the argument that MLSN non academy teams avoid playing other top teams so one can't make comparisons and this is true or conspiracy thinking. I really don't know. (Or care) Many chases the labels and have FOMO at all levels of youth soccer. Not sure why those backing ECNL or MLSN need to throw arrows, they're both great opportunities for kids to play soccer. |
Yep MLSN really showed thier bravado this weekend in the ARL showcase...all those MLS next teams just crapped all over the ECNL teams--total blow out for every one of the games. Not even sure why ECNL teams bother to show up when the MLS next teams were just so superior on the field. So out of their league --can't believe they even matched these teams up for a college showcase. |
link for ds please |
Exactly. ECNL National Mid-Atlantic has 1, maybe 2 competitive teams. |
Arlington “showcase” |
Well said. |
This has been the best info on here about it. MLS Next pro academies, sure, I get why you can make the argument. When you compare MLS Next and ECNL clubs some are good and some are bad. Both programs still have kids going D3 or not playing at all. |
So uhhhhhh when are they gonna hear back? Mlsnext needs to hurry up |
Is there a results link? I see the schedule but no results |
It was sarcasm. MLS sucked wind in many cases. Same thing happening right now at Best Of tournament in DE. The myth of Next is a bust. |
Simply not true. Run along. |
Solar ECNL 3, Philly Union 1 - U-17

NVA Showed what they can do!! Contenders for sure! |
Well to be fair this was the Philly Union 2009s (U16) playing in U17. But yes, ECNL did okay this weekend across the age groups. |
