The nice thing is that they have played common opponents so far. 2012s and 2007s are a wash. Arlington 11s and FVU 10s are clearly better. 2009 Arlington slightly better record but 2009 FVU better GD. Neither 2008 team looking great so far. Assuming younger age groups = three youngest teams, I think Arlington 11s and FVU 10s will win, and 12s will be a tossup. 2012s Arlington 3-1, +10 GD FVU 3-1, +5 GD 2011s Arlington 4-0, +19 FVU 2-1-1, +11 2010s Arlington 2-1-1, 0 FVU 3-1, +15 2009s Arlington 3-1, +2 FVU 2-2, +6 2008s Arlington 2-1-1, +2 FVU 1-3, -4 2007s Arlington 3-1, +3 FVU 3-1, +4 |
This isn’t too anymore. Maybe before not not currently and I don’t see it happening in the future. |

PP who made the "hot take": was intended to be outrageous enough to be discuss, but research? C'mon man this is DCUM and its still September! They've played what 3 games!? And nobody wants facts just opinions |
FVU is not Mclean. The college recruitment is not going to be the same. Many more wealthy parents in Arlington and Loudoun now then when Mclean made their reputation and VDA has BP. All the ECNL clubs will be on roughly equally footing which is fine. Let the kids play and get recruited it's all good y'all. |
What does wealth have to do with talent? |
True in the past. Curious if Arlington will finally be able to keep their top talent into U17. |
Other teams would probably be a toss up but 2011 likely going to stay together unless they leave together which I don't see that happening. Arlington will do whatever it takes to keep them together is my guess and I don't blame them. I'm curious about how the 2012 and 2013 are going to turn out to be. |
Yawn- 2011 will be no different than all others. They are not special snowflakes. Once the top 2-3 2011 players realize they have better odds for college with a club with a proven track record and bolt at U-15 the rest of the team will crumble. It’s kind of like a game of chicken—who bolts first to secure their college placement. The best players want the proven track record once they get into recruiting years and their parents surely aren’t willing to put team before individual when college is on the line. FVU may not be McLean on paper- but the same people are overseeing the FVU college process so doesn’t really matter. Did you really think Vienna soccer was playing a role here? Just take a look at the 2026 FVU social media posts …the engine continues to hum along… |
Zero percent chance anyone leaves that team. |
They're U14 and this is a highly transient area, more likely they lose players over time just like every other team than your statement being true. |
Just not sure why one of their top kids would leave a top team in the country. Don’t think any other local team is a lock to be top 4 in Mid Atlantic. Certainly all just out guess and time will tell. |
Doesn’t sound like there was much success against VDA today. |
The merger has ruined the girls’. |
