Why are Christians insisting the opening ceremony depicted The Last Supper when it really was the Feast of Dyonisus?

Why is it easy pickings to pick on Christians and what do you think Christians will do once they realize their religion is under attack by the mainstream? Liberals literally want drama and call for it. It’s like they want to lose elections and get a hard Christian right winger government. For the love of God, leave well enough alone as a progressive.

You’re pushing a boundary when mocking one of the biggest religions on Earth let alone two of them.

What was the reason?

LOL, yeah Muslims have it so easy. They're only threatened by a major political party in the US. Constantly demonized at every turn and if there's a mass killing spree, they have to pray it wasn't a Muslim so they don't ALL get blamed while you get to hear the "mental illness" defense if it's a white Christian (which is most of the time) and only that individual is blamed for it

You really have your head up your own a$$ and it's quite obvious that you've been so pampered as a Christian that a f***ing performance is enough to make you think you're a victim. Tell us about the "War on Christmas," too, and how it's like being r*ped when greeted with "Happy Holidays."

Those poor misunderstood Muslims who toss gays off buildings, cover their women from head to toe, invade other countries and rape women, children and the elderly, and stone women who get raped. The only reason they worry about who commits violence is because it is usually them.

That’s why they aren’t messed with.

Because they do these things and sadly with the way liberals keep mocking Christians, I’m not going to be surprised if Christians fight back and I will solely lay the blame at the LGBTQ+ (plus what?) and Democrats for it

That would be history repeating itself -- remember the Inquisition?

Evangelical Christians aren't that big on studying the arts or history that doesn't have anything to do with the Bible.

I was really surprised NBC didn't realize how "knowledge challenged" Americans are, and provide actual useful commentary about what was going on.

High level people in both France and Italy denounced the pageantry. This is not just an American thing.

It's fine to denounce the pageantry, problem is the evangelicals here don't even understand what they are trying to denounce.

If NBC had done a better job of explaining what was going on, realizing most Americans know very little about Greek or French history or the origin of the Olympics, it would have helped the evangelicals understand this wasn't a depiction of the last supper.

The leader of France's left wing opposition, Melenchon, I guess is also unfamiliar with Greek and French history.

His denouncement:
"I didn't appreciate the mockery of the Christian Last Supper, the final meal of Christ and his disciples, which is foundational to Sunday worship. Of course, I'm not getting into the criticism of 'blasphemy.' That doesn't concern everyone.

"But I ask: what's the point of risking offending believers? Even when one is anticlerical! We were speaking to the world that evening. Among the billion Christians in the world, how many good and honest people are there for whom faith provides help in living and knowing how to participate in everyone's life, without bothering anyone?" he said.

Really? You can say that about so many other actions that are offensive to others and people go nuts. This was internally done to cause trouble and it’s very cruel to so many people you don’t know and don’t care about.

I’m failing to connect the French fever dream opening ceremony skits to US domestic politics. Are some of those transgenders running for office? Would they be better VP contenders than Vance? Who knows.

The French have a long history of mocking (and persecuting) both Jews and Muslims. I’m not sure why anyone thinks the French are anti-Christian. Does anyone even study French history anymore?
