Congratulations! Wonderful achievement. Best of luck to your child.

This is the perfect spot for him to be- lots of supports and we are so excited! He carries himself a little taller, with more confidence since getting that accepetance! There IS a college for everyone!

Congratulations! We know that feeling of relief and excitement. So happy for your child.

that is the key for everyone, I think. But I agree - looking for fits for your specific child is so important. I literally spent a year and half in research mode with info changing along the way. I'm just really glad that I was able to help my child find a few schools that might work for her and her needs. Not to mention - schools we should be able to afford

Same.

Our 3.3 GPA student got in at CNU, GMU, Radford, VCU, University of Arizona, North Carolina- Charlotte, WVA so far.
We are waiting for one more EA and 2 RA.

Congrats to both of your kids! Great options.

Congratulations to all the students and families. Some really impressive acceptances here but I personally feel an extra pang of joy for the kids who didn’t let ADHD discourage them.

We went through college apps a couple years ago with my ADHD student who struggled in high school but worked hard, thankfully had good college options and is now thriving and finally enjoying learning at the college level.

So excited for all of the 2024 graduates! Best of luck to all.

Question: did the Wooster emails come with Merit Aid offers? Ours didn't mention it at all.

DD's merit aid offer came with her acceptance. But we didn't file FAFSA. Seems possible that anyone who is applying for financial aid has a separate process where all aid is offered at once.

Maybe... but we're donut hole family so I'd think the dean's list scholarships, the ones that offer merit aid without an application would be the ones we'd get. It's 73k and we can't afford anything near full freight, so I guess that makes it an easy out.

They did send us something a few weeks ago encouraging DD to apply for scholarships, but she didn't--kind of an overwhelming time of year with everything due. Wooster was a reach and I don't think she put as much into it as some others--they may have thought it made more sense to offer merit to kids who interviewed, toured, etc.

So maybe there's a moral here: show interest!! Even in the schools you think might be a reach!

I'm still crossing my fingers for your DD, but it's good to have an easy out, too, especially at that price tag. Wishing very good luck to her!

Yeah, she's another ASD ADHD kiddo with not-perfect stats, so Wooster is a feather in the cap, but she's had some triumphs already. And maybe closer to home is better.

Grats to all! Keep the good news rolling!

Our DS also got into UMass CS with $16K scholarship award. How common (or rare) is this? This brings little closer to in-state tuition fee at UMD. Waiting for UMD CP since it is closer, cheaper, and better ranked for CS.
Any thoughts?

I don't know how rare is the scholarship. DD has 4.3w/1550/35 super-scores. Good time consuming long term ECs with national/international awards. She didn't apply for honor college but is still in the process for the 2nd major applications (performing arts).
