I think the version of the laptop they are using has been authenticated.
But yes there were several “versions” of the laptop floating around for years.
And the right wing ecosphere doesn’t seem to have a clue how much it was a) tampered with d) how much online fabrication has been added to it.
Same with Biden’s daughter’s diary.

I recall that even the most "authenticated" copy of the laptop still had files with timestamps showing they had been added or altered long after the laptop had last been in Hunter Biden's possession.

I feel bad for the guy. His dad obviously has a lot of love for him, but also spent Hunter’s childhood chasing his ambition. I think Jill resented having to step in as a “mother” to him and I think she favors her biological daughter to an extreme. And who knows what the car accident did to his brain.

He’s obviously enjoyed a lot of privilege and access and money in his life only because of his dad. But I think he’s also only being prosecuted now because of his bad. Take the bad with the good, I guess.

The state needs to proven he was on drugs when he signed the form and he thought himself to be an addict. In the very few cases where this has been charged the person was caught with drugs and failed a legal drug test. That is a very high bar. Biden was never arrested, never been tested for drugs and has not been caught with drugs.

Evidence doesn't have to definitively prove something in order to be admitted. It just has to make it more likely than not, and not be unduly prejudicial. The defense will be able to argue that there's no evidence the drugs in the videos were his, or what exactly he was smoking, etc, and the jury will then have to decide whether all the evidence together prove it beyond a reasonable doubt. From my reading on this, there seems to be a timing problem with a lot of the government's evidence. Most of their evidence of his drug use comes from a year or two after the gun purchase, so I'm sure Biden will say that just because he was using in 2019 does not mean he was doing so in 2018.

Because evidence isn't viewed in isolation. As trial lawyers often say, "a leaf is not tree." A photo of a person with a crack pipe doesn't mean the person smokes crack. Perhaps it belonged to someone else. A text message to a dealer arranging a purchase doesn't mean a person uses crack. Maybe he was buying for someone else. But when you take all the evidence together, a jury can make a factual finding.

No. There is so much fake propaganda about Hunter Biden. Look at the laptop and that computer shop owner who “copied” the fake laptop. All you have to do is show people are manufacturing photos, emails, etc and you have reasonable doubt.

Let's not forget the absolutely crazy mac shop owner in Delaware who made a copy of the hard drive and gave it to rudy. He has since closed up shop. I haven't followed that story since it's all a bunch of nothingburger, but that's not the way to get evidence is it? Isn't what he did a breach?
