It was only a year old, and there was no mechanism to turn it in. I have since talked to several other parents who have extra MCPS chrome books at home. Not for lack of trying to return them.

That's just one program that could be tightened up a bit to reduce waste. Yet there is no way to force them to find these efficiencies if Council and the CE continue to give huge increases.

Really? As a parent, during COVID, I returned a chromebook, and I twice swapped out a chromebook that had stopped working for one that worked.

They wouldn't take the chromebook. Told my child to take it on to high school. But he wasn't staying in the same cluster. The middle school wouldn't take it and the new high school wouldn't take it.

I don't understand the problem, then. Why wouldn't your child just take it on to high school? Did you want to return the chromebook to the middle school and then get a different chromebook from the high school? My middle schooler just took the same chromebook to high school. In fact, I'm pretty sure I remember specific instructions to do it that way.

He was issue a new one at the new high school, so he is using the newest they have provided. It was the cluster change that caused the issue and nobody would talk to each other. Or nobody would make an executive decision based on an unusual circumstance.

Actually we got what very few voted for. He won by a disgustingly small number of votes and most people voted for Blair or Reimer….who voted at all, anyway…..such a low torn out in the primary.

That's misleading since the majority voted for El Rich or he wouldn't have won. I regret voting for him. The fact that he just wants to increase taxes without addressing runaway MCPS spending shows he's a terrible leader.

Agree, but going a step further... He’s just being a good Democrat. Which one would reject increased taxes?

In the primary...which is the actual election, he won with less than 40% of the vote.

MOST people did not want Elrich

General elections in Moco are worthless. The only thing that matters is the primary.

The primary election is the primary election. The general election is the general election. You have to get the most votes in both elections. Winning the primary is necessary but sufficient. That is why Marc Elrich is county executive, and Reardon Sullivan isn't.

That is deliberately misleading. Everyone knows the real election is the dem primary. Which he squeaked out in a plurality.

If you want to claim he has some sort of mandate because he took 75% in the general election- I dont know what to tell you.

Everyone knows there is a primary election and a general election, and both of them are "real elections."

the general election is a formality.

A republican will never win in Moco so it's irrelevant. The democratic primary is the actual election which determines who will be the executive.

Moco is wildly democratic so, yes, the vast majority of people in Moco did not want elrich.

See above..."did not WANT" as evident by the primary.

Of course i reluctantly voted for him in the general, but I didn't want him.
