SO sick of weed smoke everywhere

I does smell really really bad. I thought I hated cigarette smoke, but it’s almost pleasant compared to weed.

It's like people cannot even do basic functional tasks at 1 PM without constantly feeling the need to be high outta their damn minds. Get off the roads while high, clowns.

It’s depressing and sad how weed smokers have taken the enjoyment out of so many things like this. If you want to see the cherry blossoms now you have to be willing to inhale lots of weed smoke.

Oh please. And car and bus exhaust. And for the last 100 years up until the last few years or so cigarettes too. You are in public. Deal with it.

I keep thinking taking a walk = reasonably fresh air, and then I step outside and am overwhelmed by pot smell. It really carries. One outdoor pothead pollutes a whole block.

So what can we do about this? How can we take our city back?

DP. It's legal to drive a car or bus in public in DC. It is still illegal to smoke weed in public places in DC.

Maybe your smoking makes you so mentally dull you are unable to comprehend this. Here you go, from the ACLU, which does indeed want you to understand your right to smoke. But you have no right to smoke at the Tidal Basin, PP. Or on the sidewalk even if it's in front of your home. Deal with it.

"It remains a crime under D.C. law for anyone to...Smoke or consume marijuana on public space (parks, streets, alleys, sidewalks) or anywhere to which the public is invited – including restaurants and bars (even hookah bars and cigar lounges)."

Demand enforcement, because it's illegal to smoke in public. But DC won't enforce. One huge crackdown would help but nope, that'll be viewed as racist or classist or whatever else, and DC won't do it. Yet there are plenty of white potheads toking away in public, too. Crosses all boundaries these days. Arrest anyone anywhere smoking in public and get the word out that while weed may be legal it's not legal to smoke wherever you please and you will get arrested. Hike the fines on public smoking. But arrests are a fantasy, sadly. It's going to drive tourists away and despite what some potheads on this board think, when tourists go back home and tell people how you can't see cherry blossoms outdoors without pot wafting around you, eventually, their friends won't come to DC and spend those tourist dollars. And yeah, DC needs those dollars.

How do you know what "my party" is, PP? You don't. But you sure like to leap to assumptions. Bet you assume I voted for legalization too. Because that fits your agenda!

I love smelling it and seeing it everywhere

Might as well replace the cherry blossom festival with a marijuana smoke-in.

I don't really care. Smells like freedom! Everytime a car passes by leaving a cloud of stank, I think of all the young guys who went to prison fo that. Sorry, no worried about those drivers.
