SO sick of weed smoke everywhere

It’s not always that people are smoking while out. They reek of the smell from smoking at home. It permeates everything…. clothes, hair, purses. I was at giant and got on an elevator with a fellow shopper who just reeked of pot. Made me want to vomit.

I was in favor of legalization… but can’t we have something in between “go to jail for years” and “everywhere you go smells like pot”? Make it illegal to use in public and enforce that. AT LEAST enforce no pot smoking while driving (or in cars at all, a la open container laws).

Nope. Not gonna happen. Legalization is a curse.

They reeked of freedom!

Legalization hasn't brought anything worthwhile to D.C. Crime is up, government revenues are still tight, and public education is still a disaster.

I voted against because I understand humans. Too many are unable to exercise good sense. So we all have to suffer. Over and over.

It’s keeping me out of jail so that’s a pretty large positive in my book. Nobody cares about your dislike of a smell. Grow up.

You’re willing to lock someone up because you don’t like a certain smell and yet you criticize other people for lack of “good sense”? Good thing you lost the vote.

I even encountered the smell in the gym of an important hospital in VA. Not sure if a the surgeons or the trainers were having a party upstairs.

Ah, you demonstrate my point exactly! A person unable to help going too far with something.

No, I dont want to lock anyone up but, so you know, good sense would be getting high in your home occasionally. Not freaking using daily in your car and the woods.

Like I said, humans can’t help but to go too far.

In my lifetime I’ve been promised that lotteries, casinos, & legalized weed were all going to bring in so much money to the government that our public schools would become gleaming palaces of learning. Guess what? Kids are more stupid than ever.

To be fair, that’s because we’ve sidelined direct instruction, put all kids together, and raised expectations without recognizing that it’s family expectations who make the kid, not school's.

Capitalism works because we just let society deal with the externalities

Not these days.

I know that in DC they don't enforce laws but I smell weed coming from cars in VA all the time, it's always easy to spot the car. FCPD is always looking to arrest drunks can't they bust the potheads too?

PP said nothing about locking people up. How about citations? Fines? Enforcing impaired driving laws?
