Why do the rich vote Democrat?

I keep seeing phrases like “liberal guilt” here. As a liberal, I feel zero guilt about the past because I had zero control over it. What I am motivated by is a strong sense of egalitarian beliefs. All the problems in America are precisely because everyone is in a bubble. You can’t tell me that with your attitude that you have numerous liberal friends and that you socialize with people of different races, religions, ethnicities, and origins. When is the last time you traveled to another part of the country where you didn’t fit in at all?!

Poorer people would be wise to take up and emulate wealthier peoples’ beliefs on those topics unless they want to stay poor.

This!!!
They implement policies that are not good for society ("Criminal justice reform," for one... it does not "reform" but creates chaos) but they live in rich enclaves that are not affected by their policies - they have gated communities, private security, and do not need to worry about the consequences of their policies.

It’s almost like all aren’t actually “welcome.” I have to think that many of the rich people who live this way hate themselves on some level. They are truly out of touch.

This describes republicans, not dems. But no rich people hate themselves for being rich - they just feel sorry for the rest of you. Well, the rich dems do, anyway. The republicans don’t give a crap. Anyway where did people get this idea that dems are rich…republicans are literally the party of the rich.

That is a result of indoctrination in the colleges, not education

DP. "Indoctrination in colleges"? You mean being taught to think critically? Not accepting the status quo? Questioning authority? Examining history and society through different lenses? Challenging widely-held beliefs? Learning about other cultures and political systems? Fostering intellectual curiosity? If that's "indoctrination," I'll take it.

No, I mean being failed in classes for not thinking critically and not accepting the current leftist agenda, whatever that may be. Colleges are a group think exercise now.

education =/= indoctrination

You weaponize words and ideas because you don't know the actual meaning.

A Columbia University professor had a class that taught students how to squat in properties they didn’t own, in order to work the law to take possession of them.

How many fools on here say they won’t spend their travel dollars on this state or that state because of “problematic” policies?

Wtf. We are adversely affected by the red states. Flat refusal of sensible gun legislation. Time and time again, no matter what mass shooting occurs. They force their gun agenda on us.

I’d gladly take the policies/adverse effects from the liberal rich than the ones forced on me by the red states.

Virtue signaling plus making it harder for others to attain similar levels of wealth.

You clearly don’t know what these beliefs are. I really really suggest you acquaint yourself. It’s exactly what wealthy privileged people try to make poor people believe in, but don’t practice themselves.

I'm rich I'm also an Ex Republcian beginning 2016

I will never ever vote for one Republican again

I have removed my scholarship funds from the Univ of Florida. This was millions of $. No way I will have my money there with DeSantis in control.

I will no longer support anything anyone that has any ties to Republicans.

Because Republicans love guns more than human lives. Fact.

I travel to the rural Midwest every year. I also lived a couple of years in Appalachia and worked manual labor. I am constantly surrounded by people of all walks of life, including wealthy well known Republicans. Get out of your bubble. Twitter is not reality.

You need a college education. I don’t think you know what any of these words mean.
