The government doesn’t shut down over this. The House just can’t do any business before the Speaker is elected, which means Congress cannot pass any bills until the issue is resolved.

They passed the omnibus, thank God. So earliest would be Oct. 1.

But I’m circling that day on my calendar, if today’s any indication of how the rest of this year is gonna go.

Agree, I said this on another thread last week. Drama, yawn. GOP always fall in line and Kevin only cares about having his name engraved on a Speaker plaque.

Where have you been for seven years so I can go there

Watching MAGA try to take over our country.

McCarthy was lying to the Gosar/Gaetz crowd. He said there was deal with the Dems to vote "present" so he could win. AOC confirmed there was never any deal.

“McCarthy was suggesting he could get Dems to walk away to lower his threshold,” Ocasio-Cortez told The Intercept of her conversation with Gaetz on McCarthy’s failed ploy. “And I fact checked and said absolutely not.”

Let’s imagine for a minute the kinds of things that could happen, virtually instantly as far as outside observers are concerned, that would make having no Congress a problem.

This is really not a good situation.

There is no imminent danger to our republic. The nation was far more destabilized after the 2020 election.

Apparently you can molest a bunch of teen boys and the media will uncritically carry water for you while you’re 3rd in line for the Presidency. My ass there’s a “liberal media”

He was rushed in when Newt and Bob somebody I forget were both having affairs and wouldn’t seem genuine going after a President for getting a blow job.
