The comfort inn in Ballston. It was covered (only) in ARL now.

More about the QRF at the Marine Corps Memorial on 1/6

"It’s unclear what the as-yet unidentified men were doing at the memorial that afternoon. Was their presence purely coincidental, or somehow connected to the pro-Trump rally and subsequent violence at the Capitol?"

Other words in the article: "Seemingly", "it is our understanding".

Nothing in that article is anything but speculation. Just. Wow. That's some horrid reporting.

Yes, because of DC’s strict gun laws. Proud Boy leader Enrique Tarrio had just been picked up by MPD on a gun charge. There are recorded discussions by Proud Boys saying they should stash their weapons nearby.

I wonder if Congress realizes that if DC had Virginia’s permissive gun laws, they’d be dead and we would have a dictatorship.

Right. Because a group of people DEMONSTRABLY FOLLOWING DC’s municipal firearms codes surely wouldn’t have thought twice about murdering the entire Congress if only they had valid concealed carry permits.

You'll never get through with logic my friend.

I’m sure they were just your average tourists with Boafang two-way radios positioned between the Comfort Inn and the Capitol on 1/6.

The indictments of the Oathkeepers came later and have more detail.

Then why the horrid reporting? Please link to a new story with that detail

Don’t Care!!

This is all so flipping tedious. Just an immense waste of time. Trump is an idiot, and a bigot, and 100 other things. I don’t give a sh$t anymore. He’s gone. He’s irrelevant and an embarrassment to all his sycophants now trying to distance themselves.

At the same time, this was not an “insurrection”. It was a protest by a bunch of idiot rednecks, really people who would deserve pity and empathy if they weren’t so obnoxious.

But you can’t have an insurrection with no guns, no bombs, no plan to overthrow the government, and no intent to seize power and rule. That didn’t exist. It was a bunch of dumbass theatre and I’m tired of otherwise reasonable and smart people pretending that the American Government was on the brink of collapsing. Such a bunch of hysterics. Get over yourselves.

There were two bombs, so I guess your point is disproven. They were placed by a person in a hoodie.

The insurrectionists wanted to kill the VP and Speaker Pelosi.

No need to move the goalposts. We have seen some of the messages between Ginny Thomas and Mark Meadows. The wife of a sitting justice attended the 1/6 rally at the Ellipse and was in direct communication with the WH Chief of Staff. She is tied to a number of astroturf groups promoting the Big Lie.

We already know that Trump’s White House was coordinating with the Supreme Court. Kavanaugh’s predecessor realized he had to retire early from the Court when Trump was elected because this predecessor’s son worked for Deutsche Bank and was directly involved in giving loans to Trump (when no other bank would, btw). Predecessor then scheduled a meeting in the White House and anointed Kavanaugh as his preferred successor. THIS HAS NEVER BEEN OK. The whole “who gets the rose” drama that the WH staged like a dating show was a sham.
Am I really the only person here who remembers this?

I remember.

Tucker, too. Fox had them both go commercial free last night so no one would switch channels.

Fox is playing the long con as usual. If it doesn’t broadcast the hearing then it can support the narrative that nobody watched the hearing and thus nobody cares. 20 million viewers is a very good number for an early summer Thursday evening (late afternoon West Coast). Don’t buy into the lies and propaganda.

Not everyone watches TV all the time for news. Anyone who thinks that’s the case seems stuck in 20 years ago.

FOJ has alleged there were three (3) Oathkeeper affiliated QRF groups of 3-4 heavily-armed ex-military snd law enforcement operating from the Comfort Inn Ballston (I-66 & Glebe Road): Florida team, NC team and Arizona team who were in frequent communication with Stewart Rhodes. The Capitol is a direct line of sight three miles from the Memorial which would have enabled radio comms.

Also worth noting they had brought with them up to a 30 day supply of rations in addition to an as yet unspecified number of guns, ammo and other equipment. According to DOJ the NC OK QRF kept their weapons stash in their truck. William Wilson, one of the OK leaders from NC who has pled guilty to seditious conspiracy and is cooperating brought an AR15, 9mm handgun and 209 rounds of ammo to the “base of operations” at the Comfort Inn. Wilson is an ex-Marine who has told prosecutors about a call Rhodes made to someone as yet unidentified who was close to Trump asking to speak directly with the president about invoking the Insurrection Act.

One of QRF teams allegedly attempted to launch a drone for reconnaissance but was unsuccessful. Edward Vallejo returned to the Capitol on the morning of 1/7 to recon security.

Two bombs placed a couple of blocks away from the Capitol to divert law enforcement. One behind the GOP Capitol Hill Club s as nd the other next to the DNC. Ronnie Coffman of Alabama parked his truck with firearms and Molotov cocktails across the street from the RNC.

I do too but I didn’t remember that Kennedy realized he had to retire early. I thought he was made to retire by the GOP (not that we ever got confirmation of that) but I remember the rest of it.

People who watch Hannity and Carlson aren’t particularly interested in either news or facts.

Leonard Leo of the Federalist Society has a decades long relationship with Ginni Thomas. She has her nasty little fingers in everything.

They weren’t aiming to murder the entire congress, just a few specific people. Pence, Pelosi, AOC (just for spite), Mitt, a bunch of other high ranking Democrats. I could spitball on how they planned to do it without guns, but I’m not a trained killer or anything.

Michael Fanone thinks they were trying to hold Congress hostage to keep it from certifying, because the Constitution requires it to be held on the 6th.

I still would like to know who Jim Acosta's source was for this tweet:
