IKR? I don’t know a single parent who has boasted about his/her kids’ friends. We are feds and my kids have friends across the Langley economic spectrum. Sometimes I know the parents; sometimes I don’t. To think people dwell on this is ridiculous. And no, the parking lot is not full of Teslas, Audis and Mercedes — it’s full of used cars. My kid drives a Honda and carpools with other friends who don’t have cars. Some friends live in big houses; others don’t. |
Hmm. Who said it was "superior"? We're allowed to say what we value in our schools. And if you really drove through that parking lot twice a day - or even once a day - you would know that your gross exaggeration about the cars is extremely transparent. Some parents might be driving luxury cars, but to say they're in the student lot is ridiculous. |
DP. Wow, you seem absolutely triggered. Not sure where you're coming up with this nonsense, but it's not a good look. Try obsessing over something else for a change. |
+1 This thread is just the usual Langley-bashing that some DCUM posters seem to get off on. Really pathetic. Apparently, we're not allowed to say our kids have nice friends with involved families - unless, of course, they attend Mt. Vernon or Annandale. Langley parents are NOT allowed to be happy with their school. ![]() |
DP. +100 This describes us as well. As another poster stated earlier, the only people who continually obsess over Langley and wealth (or perceived wealth) are those who don't have kids there. No one who goes there cares about this nonsense, much less talks about it. |
Four posts in a row, PP? LOL. |
Your point? I read four posts that I decided to respond to. It’s called a message board. |

OP specifically wants, overtly wants to social climb. Even if everyone at Langley were an insufferable snob, it would be fine with her. |
Anyone can claim that they are at the school daily. But who said Langley was special? Who said the kids there are achieving off pure luck and not the start their parents gave them? Obviously money makes that easier from the organic food during the prenatal period to a stay at home mom to tutoring. OP can move or not. She may find what she hopes, and she may find that she uprooted her kids for nothing and wasted a colossal amount of money. Not our problem. |
Langley is better |
DP here and there is actually much truth to what first PP mentioned, albeit no one dare speak about it or admit it. |
Yeah, if you want to your kids to attend HS with only UMC/rich kids, some of whom are incredibly clueless and snotty. Otherwise, no real difference. https://www.instagram.com/chantilly2022decisions/ https://www.instagram.com/langleycommits2022/ |
Langley people with kids at Potomac school look down on Langley people with kids at Langley High School, who in turn look down on people with kids at Chantilly HS. |
You do realize that when you go to college, you will also be surrounded by these UMC/rich kids. You may not see a difference between the college admissions but I do. |
