Not a single 2027 made the SJC varsity. There are a bunch who do some practicing with them and play JV games. Maybe they'll get some mop up time against Ireton and the like. There are several 2027 parents who aren't very happy with the bait and switch tactics of Speaks telling them they were going to make the team and get time and then that didn't happen. More than 1 are looking at options due to this and the enormous time commitment to get to campus from Virginia. The same happened with the Hawks families. Promises made and promises broken but SJC was able to keep the better players and went on to dominate.

You have inside knowledge that SJC was willing and able to play Prep, and Prep could have scheduled the game, but the admins at Prep squashed it? I know you can't burn your sources but please oh please give us a hint who your mole is.

Prep and SJC easily could have found a mutual date to play this week. Its not like SJC has anyone tough for the next week and neither do the Lil Hoyas.

Given how young the Cadets are this Spring / Dunkel being out, Prep would have likely been the favorite this year too.

So much speculation. No one on this board has any idea whether either school reached out to the other, and if they did, that the inability of either to get the game scheduled was on Prep, or on SJC, or mutual. This conversation is beyond pointless.

It's not speculation. The IAC got tired of Speaks directly contacting students and parents and asking them to transfer. The athletic directors of the IAC decided to no longer schedule SJC. Those messages from coach to players/family were shared on this board dozens of pages ago.

How have you come across this information? I spoke to the head coach at every major lax program in the DMV over the last 6 months as we looked for a school for my son. All of the coaches expressed respect and admiration for speaks. The hit on SJC was always its academics were not top of the charts and that it would be impossible for my son to play football there.

Wait until the SJC kid trolling this board reads this during Math and responds.

It was literally posted on this board. Someone posted his message and telephone number. It's not strictly prohibited in the WCAC like it is in the IAC but it's not looked upon well by any high school coach. If your kid is good enough and gets time, the coaches will share stuff. I actually think it shows coach's distaste even more by disparaging directly another school's academics.

It’s just the dads that didn’t get offered from Coach Speaks that make up stories about the man. It’s ok

Neutral observer... SJC landed a bunch of kids from the 27 Next Level and 27 Madlax teams - at least double what GP, Landon or Gonzaga got. Time will tell if they end up being studs or not, but on paper, SJC did very well with the top two local club teams for that year.

Well STJ appears to be living in the past and the future but not in the present lol…just saying! Probably best their not playing any of the bigger local teams this year as it wouldn’t end well for them. So let’s talk about what’s important in 2028 and beyond…

The present will prove they will walk the rest of the schedule. Unfortunately the cubs and the baby Hoyas wont play anymore. They took their ball and went home.

STM Ryken knocked off the Heights this week. Can they be the first team in the DMV to knock off the Cadets in years tomorrow?

None made varsity. Good but not great and certainly no top line player.

Is it better to play on gameday or stand on the sidelines and watch?
