Why do African Americans believe that OJ is innocent

Anonymous
I was thought he was guilty as hell but it was such a spilt. Anyway we all know he's a scumbag and he's in jail but now he's trying to sell the knife.

Did you go around and ask all the African Americans in the country?

Did we just go back in time to the 1990s?

Does anyone think this Starbucks thing will catch on?

Do you think I can pull off the Friends haircut?

Oh, and, has anyone seen my Nirvana CD?

(We're asking 90s questions, right?)

This is like my asking why white people live in Kansas. Do lots of white people live in Kansas? Yes. Are most people in Kansas white? Maybe. But there are millions of white people who don't live in Kansas. Like there are millions of blacks who don't think OJ was innocent.

Maybe not innocent but not proven guilty.

I think this is an interesting discussion of racial dynamics that is still relevant today as inflammatory as it is. It speaks to not only racial divides but socioeconomic divides.

My experience at the time of the verdict that many peoople were celebrating that he managed to stay out of jail using wealth and privilege as other entitled people have done for centuries. I honestly don't think people actually believed he did it....it was a racial solidarity issue.

The second worst outcome from the trial is the enduring fame of the Kardashians. I would probably watch at least one episode of a Kato Kaelin reality show. I wonder if he wears Ed Hardy shirts.

Black people always support their kind . Hello its the same for Obama.

I don't think the ones that celebrated his acquittal do think he's innocent. They just celebrated that for once, it wasn't an automatic death sentence if a black man was accused of killing two white people.

I have a good friend who was working with me at the end of the trial. She was so happy he got off, not because she thought he was innocent but apparently she was just happy that the crooked police and their sketchy tactics were not getting off easy for once, from what she told me.
She was an older black woman who grew up in a very poor area, so I think she had seen enough racism and injustice in her life.
She was also a minister so obviously she wasn't happy that a murderer got off free and clear.

"their kind???" Nothing like a few posts to remind you that racism is alive and well.

I'm black and so is my husband and neither one of us think OJ is innocent.
