Hahaha I love that you Googled that. Hilarious. Yeah, you’re not the only one. You found your people.

For years I knew jen was a selfish fraud and the incessant fangurling drove me insane. Especially when I saw my friends like her posts. I wanted to message them all “ARE YOU BLIND?!?” I’m a justice person - for me, seeing unchallenged hypocrisy triggers me. It’s literally painful.
This thread proves to me that the world has not gone completely mad.
This thread is my therapy. Justice is served.

If you don’t get it, ok. As Big Sis would say so adorably, bye Felicia.
But to post “oh my gah I’ve never even heard of her like oh my gah how come y’all are talking about someone I’ve never heard of” is, like, really dumb.

Perfectly said. I also am very triggered by unchallenged hypocrisy, and boy has it gotten me into some trouble in my life. But not here!!! 😂

Ok, back to Jen’s hair… I know this is shallow but it’s always bothered me that as a public figure she can’t just make a standing appointment at a salon so her roots aren’t so grown out all the time. Like, how lazy do you have to be? You have the money. Just schedule it for every 4 weeks or whatever. For the last decade she’s perpetually looked like she was living in the middle of the pandemic and couldn’t get her hair done for 3 months. Back when she used to speak at If Gathering I always wanted to update her look/style. She just looks like everyday she puts on what she thought was cool in 2002. And I guess that’s fine, but she looks so smug and proud of herself all the time, and I hate that.

Can I ask what an updated fashionable look for someone in her demographic and circle would be? Hair and clothes wise. Just point me to a celeb or someone I can google. I’m not a mid forties(?) white woman/mom of 5, so I’m not sure what’s considered on trend for you guys. I think she looks…fine? I don’t see the difference between her and too many other women I would consider her peer group. But if I could see some examples of a thumbs up look vs a thumbs down look I would feel right educated on the matter. Lol I’m sorry if this is offensive but if I can’t ask the question here then where can I? Also I’m not the one who brought up the subject 😂 is Tina’s look more fashionable?

Jen looks like a walking JJill catalog from 2010. She’s about 10 years behind the trends. Tina looks like someone who likely worked at a tanning salon, shops at Forever 21, and thinks Olive Garden is fine dining. A little more fashionable- but puts in a lot more effort and is slightly skanky looking.

I kind of forget Jen used to write things with some merit. I’m pretty sure the demographic who put her 3 books on the NYT’s bestsellers list are the very readers she’s utterly gutted in recent years. Not sure she can gather enough readers from her post Christian camp to get back on the list.

But yes, she has friends in high places, tons of rabid followers and oodles of confidence onscreen. Plus those stats from her former writing career to carry her. She’ll be fine. We are just wondering if her shilling is even hard on her on some level but she doesn’t know how to stop cause she wants the easy money to maintain her lifestyle. Is she conflicted ethically with her complete sell out?

She just looks like a mess. Like one would with younger kids. Now her kids are older and she has time to look more polished and less like she just rolled out of bed.

In fairness fashion in south Texas is a far cry from DC or anything East coast. Jen has teens around her daily when she’s home, she kind of reflects her world of a small town Texas local. Even in the wealthy suburbs of Dallas ladies in their late 40’s early 50’s aren’t dressing like Jen or Tina. Both of them seem to have a part of them that is stuck in adolescence. It’s not classy but it makes them happy so…..

There are two camps of Tina: mean girls and sweet.

The fact that our Tina became a nurse makes me think she’s sweet Tina who tells you she loves your hair & bakes banana bread for everyone at work.

The fact that she knowingly slept with another woman’s husband makes me think she could be mean girl Tina who’d spread rumors you gave her boyfriend a blowjob in his car so you won’t beat her for homecoming queen.

Jury’s out.

Car blowjobs were the best, though. Right?

I totally agree with pp that Jen is in a double bind. She’s not educated or skilled enough to leave her influencer world for a high paying 8-5 gig. Plus she’s addicted to the praise of her followers. What job can she do that pays as well and allows for such fiexibility and paid vacay/merch/celebrity contacts? Real work would be such a drag after the glory days of speaking to thousands, podcasts with big names and having hundreds of thousands of followers. She’s stuck selling her soul for likes and kickbacks. Sad really. I think there was an interesting, funny, godly lady in there before all the drama spun out of control.

I don't think she is in a bind at all. I think what you are forgetting is that she is a 3X (I believe) NYT Best Selling author. Those credentials don't just go away. She does have over a million followers between platforms...and there is a way to monetize this. She is good on tv and frequently lands on Today show or other morning shows. She has friends in high places. She's gonna be just fine and she won't have to teach.

I respectfully disagree. She’ll be fine in the sense she’s not going to be poor, but her income and status are steadily in a downward spiral. This is purely conjecture, of course. She’ll get bailed out by someone, but this higher than thou persona that espouses to save the world and be a social justice warrior is becoming more irrelevant minute by minute. She thinks she’s better than she is. Seriously. Her charm and wit are superficial and are never going to get her to the status she so desires…. Joanna, The pioneer chick, Kim Paisley, and Trisha Yearwood and her other celeb fake friends, are all multiple stratospheres ahead of her. Yet, she’s so f’in oblivious it’s comical.

So glad I found this forum. I was a fan of pre-7 Jen, the Bible study author. Loved two of her studies, Modern Girl's guide and Misunderstood, then poured over Interrupted as an account of how to live out the authentic Christian life in the midst of a Western affluence. 7 was where she really started to get the more mainstream voice, and while some of the chapters seemed to be overcaffeinated, I liked and was jealous of her friendship anecdotes.

Who she is today is someone I barely recognize and actually find repellant. Funny enough, as a PP way back noted, her original audience of Bible believing faithful were much more steadfast than her current minions, whom she needs to apologize to every 3 weeks or so.

Tbh, Tina seems to “fit” Brandon more - looking at Brandon’s most recent pics. She seems more the biker chic type than Jen ever did. She also seems very into him and Jen was probably always too busy becoming famous. At least that’s what I gather from their IG’s. I know that Brandon posts her WAYYYY more than he ever did Jen. He seemed to be more into the kids and his biker life than his wife.

And no, I’m not Tina, Brandon or anyone that knows them at all. I’ve been a Jen and Brandon IG follower for years. I wish I could see Tina’s IG but I don’t know if she accepts new friend requests. Lol

Able clothing, what Jen constantly shills, looks like more expensive LOFT to me. Youngish and boxy looking style.

I'm not delusional enough to think that Tina or Brandon frequent this board, but damn, I will never understand the pro-Brandon tilt of this page. The evidence is pretty clear that Brandon has been stepping out for years on Jen. Like at least four years. And so many posters conveniently ignore that and instead assume that Brandon and Texas Barbie are just soul mates meant for each other, and that we are all happy that Brandon found love after Jen ignored his needs for years.

That's kind of messed up. I'm no Jen fan, but she should be allowed to have a career without a man baby throwing their marriage down the toilet behind her back.

Tina definitely likes the attention, and Brandon clearly likes parading her and her boobs all over TX. But, she seems ok and is probably giving him a smidge more attention than Jen did. My guess is that they met when he was in rehab. Maybe she was a nurse there or a friend of one of the staff.

They’re real and they’re spectacular.

That would be unethical and Tina would lose her nursing credentials? lol wtf

Also I don’t think he went to rehab anyways, but went to OnSite which he posted on his Instagram at some point. On-site is like a therapy center where rich pseudo Christian celebs go.
