+1000. I used to like Gizelle when I thought she was basically a good and happy person, and funny. But I feel like she is one of those bitter people who feels she 'needs a man' and yet knows her man is a loser. She tells the same jokes and makes the same fake accusations. I was shocked no one else pointed out she was perpetuating an image by being fake-scared of Chris. Her girls are a lot darker than her so she needs to watch how she treats people if she wants to get into the heaven she pretends to believe in.

What does this even mean? Please do better.

Not the person who posted this but I believe she is speaking to the light skinned privilege. I’m lighter skinned and unfortunately can get a pass that my darker relatives couldn’t. I think the poster is saying that she needs to be mindful that she is doing the exact same thing that she wouldn’t want someone to do her girls. I could be wrong. Hopefully the PP will come back and explain.

Long before the "the big black man is threatening me (by standing up)!!" shenanigans I've thought it was gross how Gizelle seems obsessed with her fair features and how beautiful that makes her. Her kids are all beautiful girls, but listening to their mom wax rhapsodic about her (and Robyn's) green eyes and watching her always wear blonde wigs has to be a bit of a mindf*#!. I can't figure out if she's just oblivious or truly a narcissist.

When has Gizelle waxed about how beautiful she is? Never. I think some of you viewers have placed your own securities to these women, and are projecting I do agree with your statement about those ugly blonde wigs on both Gizelle and Karen. They both look ridiculous. And Robyn should go a little darker as well.

They did not coin that term. Ashley coined that term as an insult towards them after the restaurant altercation several years ago. Karen picked up the insult and began calling them that whenever she wanted to say something shady. I find it hypocritical of both Karen and Ashley trying to insult G & R complexions as all four of the women are within the same variance of complexion - lightskin. Anyway, the name was picked up as a slur on SM to attack Robyn and Gizelle. If you've been watching the show longer than this one season you would know that it was not received warmly by either R or G in the beginning. Like many names used against a person or group to cause harm and insult, they appropriated the term so that it no longer stung.

But I feel like she is one of those bitter people who feels she 'needs a man' and yet knows her man is a loser. She tells the same jokes and makes the same fake accusations. The optics of 'needing security' even as the reunion filmed and you could see how far back (and how uninterested in fighting) her 'security' was- was a dirty, transparent prop that underlines colorism and does not make her look actually concerned for her safety, or intelligent or supportive of the black community. She knows what she has done and why she thinks she needs security. Candiace and Monique doesn't have security but she does? In that flashback,playing dumb when Chris asked her who the baby looked like, then pretending to wonder why to Robin is so offensive. "Why would he ask that?" my left nut. He asked it to rub in the fact that everyone knew what she was trying to set up. The fact that her plan flopped is her only plausible deniability that there was no plan. She's dirty. And dumb. And falling into a stereotype. She needs to do better.

Gizelle initially got the security because of Monique (she had it at Karen’s intervention with Monique) not Chris. It’s not some commentary on black men. It’s a commentary on Monique, who beat up someone the same dark color as her. This has nothing to do with colorism from Gizelle.
