How can you open when the bus stops are still sheets of ice or mounds of snow?

Are conditions similar in Loudoun and PW?

They were but again, a LOT of melt happened today. Even the bad streets near me looked good. Biggest issue I saw was some turn lanes are occluded but with a delay kids can see the icy spots and avoid them. It’ll be fine. Although kind of a waste of a day but better to save it for future snow than waste it.

Doesn't matter. Dr. Reid has been very clear that the bus stops need to be clearer.

Are we taking her at her word? I don’t know if I am. 🤷‍♀️

If tomorrow is a 2 hour delay, most high school kids will just skip. It would be pointless to go for just a few hours in the classroom, considering lunch time is mandatory.

As a fellow teacher, I disagree. I believe an on-time or delayed opening helps ease students back into their routine and sets the tone for a productive week ahead. While it may be chaotic, it's an important first step in reestablishing routines.

It’s really bad, as are 40% of residential streets in McLean. Did a fleet of plows break down? Seems like a major oversight.

Yes I would like to know what happening with VDOT.
Very Unusual indeed

How would we know? Call the Principal and find out. Why does McLean need its hand held on everything snow-related? Half the posts in this thread are McLean whining.
McLean got the shaft by VDOT.

Have any other FCPS employees felt like they’ve been stuck in Sunday purgatory. Don’t even know how to spend my days if I’m not sure if I’m returning to work tomorrow.

The current alert is off the website so an announcement should show up soon …
