You're right that a release goes through many layers, which is why it's bizarre that they would have her take any responsibility for it at all. I would think the normal route would be to say something like "a staffer made a huge error in judgment that we didn't catch before releasing the photo, so sorry." Or just anything that didn't make it seem like she was the one doing the photoshopping, even if she was. The royal family can craft any image they want. Why did they go with the image of making Kate look incompetent, insecure, etc.? Especially when she has always been the darling and traditionally given the RF so much good press?

Aside from this one thing that made me question it is her hair being in a chignon on the photo. She often wears her hair down and that seems most likely when she was supposedly being dropped off for a private appt., rather than a fussy chignon when the public obviously wasn’t seeing her.

Take a deep breath. You're getting crazy.

The photographers who took the car picture are not amused by your "sleuthing".

"The paparazzo who snapped the pic of Kate Middleton riding alongside Prince William in a car Monday is speaking out to quash online conspiracy theories that the photo was doctored.

“We don’t change our photos in Photoshop other than adjusting the light levels if necessary,” photographer Jim Bennett told The Post."

This Jim Bennett? The guys who was exclusively tipped off to get the shot? The guy who is dependent on access to the BRF for his bread & butter?

Here's their photo agency IG, with lots of adoring words for the BRF: https://www.instagram.com/goffphotos/

Sorry, not going to believe the word of a papp who has every incentive to lie to the NY Post.

If you look at the image, "Jim Bennett" does NOT have the photo credit for the car picture.

It feels like classy human trafficking, tbh.

She has a striking look....and then she's next to this old dude who looks like her uncle. Blech.

It's more like classy gold digging except that it's far more traditional than marrying for love. Have you read Jane Austen?

Don't feel bad for her. She got what she set out to get.

Guys - dig into British media

Read that:
- Kate and William don't live together.
- She lives in Windsor close to her parents. - He lives in KP and Amner Hall (who lives close to Amner? Rose…. whose husband is reportedly gay)…

Just looked Rose up. I don’t know that I believe the affair. I mean, he could have just married her if he loved her, she is an aristocrat and would have likely been suitable wife. BUT…poor Rose. Her husband is so old. Why?? What was she thinking. She is 39 and he is 64!

Her sister also married a much older titled guy. Wanting titles and wealth running the family.

Pippa is 40 and her husband is 48.

The Middleton women met rich men because they were from a family that had become rich. Both women married former friends, not the first random rich dude who would have them. Believe me, they had options.

Carole Middleton is a modern day Mrs. Bennett. Kate and pippa “married well” because carole was strategic in where her daughters went to school and in whom they socialized with.

Pippa in particular married well because she did so on Kate’s coattails. In fact, pippa arguably married better than Kate. A never before married billionaire who’s a private citizen. They live in a 30 million pound mansion and his parents own a resort in st Barths. Pippa doesn’t work and writes the occasional op Ed in a woman’s health magazine on the benefits of swimming daily in pregnancy (the luxury.) while kate lives in 400 year old houses, has to never upstage her husband, and has to live an extremely public life. Kate chose this and made her bed for status, but pippa benefited more than she did.

Perfectly summarized. And it's not just Pippa who rode Kate's coattails. Pippa is now secure in her new life and set for life, even if she divorced. The status she helped confer on her husband when they married likely gave her leverage in negotiating her prenup, as marrying the sister-in-law to the future king would be considered very valuable, as well as knowing your children would be nieces and nephews to one king and cousins to another. So Pippa is basically free.

But Kate's parents 100% rely on William and Kate at this point, especially since their business went bust. And they are getting older. Plus look at their extended family -- do you think "Uncle Gary" would be on Celebrity Big Brother without the royal connection? I don't. Kate's entire family hit the jackpot when she married William. They also stand to lose a lot if they divorced, eve if Kate herself would be okay. It's a complicated situation.

I suspected she was then mourning not only the pregnancy but future pregnancies, essentially needing healing physically and emotionally because she was depressed, understandably. (Perhaps she was also at risk of sepsis and the situation was quite serious). BUT hearing now about the marriage and the picture fiasco makes me indeed wonder if they are separating or in a deep marital crisis. Reports of his drinking provide more fodder as well as the odd timing of reports whereby it was stated that William and nanny were handling school runs followed by close declarations that HER family was circling the wagons and doing much of the caregiving. Multiple things can be happening at once (individual issues, marital crisis, larger family dynamics...perhaps Charles is very ill and they are reeling as they prepare to take over years earlier than expected and scrambling, particularly if the marriage is also troubled). Intuitively, it feels like it is a troubled marriage which is deeply sad if true.

I’ll debunk your pregnancy theory. Not possible. IF she were pregnant, she’d be having an ultrasound to confirm very early on and a tubal pregnancy would have been detected well before it grew large enough to rupture a tube.

how so? mine ruptured my tube very early (< 6 weeks)

Right - it appears he was hired by image distributor that is credited? I guess we can't even confirm this guy is the photographer.

Anywho, here is the spot where he allegedly took the photo. You can see the different color brick mortar on the wall compared to the mortar on the house. It's two different colors: https://maps.app.goo.gl/ffmpDoMAGWStCkPC8

The credit is Bruce Bennett (which should actually read Bruce/Bennett) and refers to Bennett and his partner who have long photographed the royal family. He even mentions his partner in the interview.

I guarantee that this photo was authorized by Kensington Palace and that the selection of these photographers was also pre-approved. The family wanted to get a "proof of life" photo out there after the fiasco with the Mother's Day photo, and this allowed them to do it without appearing to do it. But just as the BRF banned the UK press from publishing the TMZ photo of Carole Middleton and a Kate-esque creature in the front seat of her car last week, they authorized this photo.

That’s what Charles did—a short video of him reading Get Well Soon cards.

There’s much, much less speculation about Charles, yet he’s the current king and has cancer. His team handled things much better.

Apparently there has been turnover in the office of Catherine/William and this team is just not yet on the ball. Struggling...

This is an excellent point. Throw on some make-up, get the hair done, sit behind a desk, and say thank you for the well wishes.

I know any number of women who had mastectomies, started chemo, and managed to return to work in less time than Kate has taken to date. Without make-up artists and hair stylists. Yes Kate doesn’t have to keep a job to put food on the table, but she could do the bare minimum of walking downstairs to the home office, utter a few words, and have put much of this to rest by know.

Two options here.

1) she can't - mentally or physically she's in worse shape than anybody will admit.

2) she refuses to.
2(a) she's just annoyed people won't leave her be until after easter
2(b) she's using her absence as a bargaining chip to get... something out of the RF.

I don’t believe Kate’s sister would have gone on a Caribbean vacation knowing her sister were in dire trouble. That gives me hope that Kate is ok but playing hardball in some kind of negotiation.

this is what I don't like as a fan of hers. Are they going to say she wouldn't let the staff fix the issues next? It's not about being honest or taking accountability because we know she's not the only one edits the pics. They're just using her as a shield and that's wrong.

I don’t think Kate did this at all. Kate is known for taking family photos. This one was highlighted as being taken by William. So Kate’s too under the weather to be seen publicly, yet she apparently posed for a photo, leaped up from her sickbed to photo edit a picture that William supposedly took (Don’t they have staff for that?), and issued an apology for “confusion “. Sure.

It's pretty clear that KP is operating solely at the direction of William. Catherine is on the outside and is forced to watch her name be used in an unauthorized manner.

It's unclear if she will be allowed back into William's circle. I don't buy for one minute that she approved that photo, used Photoshop, or issued that below-average-intelligence statement. And I'm not convinced she willingly got in the car with William just to be ambushed by one of the Palace's favored paparazzi outfits.

She's on the outs.

We don't know when the photos were actually taken, just when they were published and the story provided to go with them. She goes there often, her husband's family owns the resort.
