Willis was not “selected” to handle the case. She’s the DA for Fulton county. She is the only person in the world who has authority bring state criminal charges for crimes committed in Fulton county.

Willis CHOSE to bring this case. And, some wonder what role the WH had in encouraging her to bring charges considering the background of Jeff DiSantis, the Deputing DA and spokesperson for Fulton County.
There is nothing illegal about Trump urging Raffensperger to investigate the election results especially considering the shenanigans that went on the evening of the election.

Trump was caught on tape telling him to find more votes. You’re insane PP. Trump is guilty AF. The election was clean. Your guy lost. Don’t let him drag you down into thinking otherwise. You look like a total fool.

Votes or illegal votes?

Exactly. "Find more votes" = do a recount and investigate the shenanigans.

There had been three recounts already. Your guy lost.

"Find more votes" = investigate for the tens of thousands of votes that disappeared overnight.

That didn’t happen though. Your guy lost.

“The tens of thousands of votes that disappeared overnight” were fictional, which is why no one has ever been able to provide any credible evidence of them, despite 3 recounts, thorough investigation, and multiple lawsuits. They never existed. You were lied to. They’re playing you. They’ve claimed over and over that they are just about to present bombshell evidence that proves election fraud, but 3+ years later, they have nothing. It was all a lie.

I am not sure the defense attorneys actually understand what a conflict of interest is.

A conflict is when a member of the prosecution has a family member in the defense. Or if there is a financial relationship between the two parties.

Having people on the same side with a financial relationship or personal relationship is not a conflict.

This whole sideshow is a sham.

Two of my oldest friends went to the courthouse and got married. They didn't tell anyone for almost 10 years! If I was called to testify I would have sworn on the Bible that they were just two divorced people having a casual thing.

That's nice.
Evidently, Wade's and Willis' fling was not the secret they wanted it to be given that one witness testified that she knew it started in at least 2021.
And, the fact that they went on cruises and luxury trips together.

And?

That doesn't make it a conflict of interest or anything else.

There were no votes that disappeared. The were two total state re-counts as well as hand counts. All of the votes were matched against the voter rolls in terms of how many votes were cast.

In other words, there were no missing votes and no evidence of any meaningful voter fraud.

It is three years and several court cases later and there is still no evidence of the same.

It is time to move on.

I still don't get the financial conflict of interest. If Willis was dating one of the defense attorneys then I can see a conflict of interest. If a defense attorney was paying off Willis, I can see the conflict. That isn't what happened here.

Having people on the same side with a financial relationship or personal relationship is not a conflict.

This whole sideshow is a sham.

According to Georgia Code, this defines conflict of interest:

Conflict of interest” means an individual has multiple interests and uses his or her official position to exploit, in some way, his or her position for his or her own direct, unique, pecuniary, and personal benefit.

https://law.justia.com/codes/georgia/2022/title-45/chapter-10/article-2/part-6/section-45-10-90/#:~:text=“Conflict%20of%20interest”%20means%20an,legislative%20branch%20of%20state%20government.

And, the first attorney up - John Merchant pointed out that Fani Willis, as a public employee, is expected to maintain records as to gifts, etc.
She did not do that. She said she paid cash, but has no record of it.

My nephew buys cars with cash a few times per year. Mechanic. Fixes and flips. Where he lives people just want to get on with business. Nobody is writing out receipts.

Very convenient for those who don't want to pay taxes on goods and/or services.

He may have issues if the IRS comes knocking.

Fani Willis is a government employee and as such, should be maintaining impeccable records when it comes to her expenditures and gifts.
She has failed in that regard.

Mechanics that do this on the regular use Schedule C 1040. They are in business. But Bobby Joe from down the road just wants to get rid of his dead grandpa's junker.

And, to get back to the point.... Fani Willis is not some "Bobby Joe from down the road." She is the DA of the largest county in GA.
It is incumbent on her to maintain thorough records when it comes to expenditures, payments and gifts.
She has not done that.

She didn't benefit in any way if, as her testimony suggests, she paid her own way. Hence no need for a record because there was no gift.
