| So VLC is definitely not fielding a 28 team? |
No. Didn't get enough kids to even tryout. If they did find enough 28's to field a team, it would likely struggle. |
| Which 28 team is best to join? |
This is going to lead to some interesting answers. The first question is how experienced/skilled is your son? |
Does it matter at this point. All the clubs literally just held their tryouts over the last 3 or so weeks. If the kid is really, really good and fills a weak spot then it is probably worth an email to a director. But, in reality, if any club takes you at this point, you should go with that club. |
Agree. But more to the point if you’re not on a club at this point it probably doesn’t make sense to join one now barring an unusual circumstance (eg just moved form a state where you were on a elite team or truly exceptional Athletic ability). The point of club is college recruiting very few kids who start playing club ball in ninth grade that make it to college team worth joining |
Agree completely. |
Unless you are True club, they will take anybody. |
|
Does anyone have any idea of the number of kids involved with the local clubs?
ie: ~276 kids = 1 x team at age groups 24-35 Madlax = ?? VLC = ?? True = ?? DCE/BLC = ?? Next Level = ?? |
| Wow. Another VLC team falling apart? 29s looking for more players. That will be the 2nd 29 team to implode, 27, 28 too. |
Madlax is also looking for more players. But don’t worry all is fine with DMV lacrosse nothing to see here just keep moving. |
tell me you are an internet troll, without telling me you are an internet troll |
You can say they are an internet troll, but other than the 2027 comment, I agree with the statement |
Unfortunately it seems like all of the teams caught up in the Cavs merger ended up worse off (or folded completely). It will take years for VLC to get back on track. Way too late for our kids. |
So from what I know is that I think this VLC attempting to form a B team. The "coach" is a Dad whose kid was on Trues B team and didn't play much. Or didn't like the results. Without outing too much, the Dad coached a 14U NVYLL team and thinks he can do better. He approached a bunch of True kids on the back end of the True 29 A team to see if they wanted to move over. As far as I know no one took him up on the offer.. Though maybe the guy was named the VLC 29 A coach and it is imploding. That wouldn't be a good look at all. Three straight years of no 8th grade teams at VLC. |
