She has my vote.

I loved her speech tonight and her aura.

So you like her outfit? That’s a very good reason to vote for a candidate for sure.

The substance of her speech is that America deserves better than Donald Trump/JD Vance. Do the opposite of what they want to do!

We don’t know what she wants to do. She won’t give an interview. She won’t hold a press conference.

She literally held a press conference on economic policy the other day. She just gave a speech outlining her policies. She wants to pass the legislation securing the border and protecting reproductive rights. She wants to support Ukraine against Russia and Putin and supports a return of hostages and a cease fire in Israel. She plans to cut taxes for the middle class and create sources of capital for small businesses and founders.

Now tell us what Trump wants to do.

So what are her economic policies? Link?

Now please outline Trump's economic policies. Oh wait I already know -- another billionaire tax cut and freaking tariffs that will raise prices on food and other necessities.

You need to start reading and listening. Your effort to pretend Harris has said nothing of substance is not working because she has.

Yes. This is the important thing. People have to vote. The speeches don't matter. The performances and celebrities don't matter. The crowd size doesn't matter. The polls don't matter.
Votes matter. The only thing that matters.
Get out in vote.
Nothing will be sadder than for this enthusiasm to crash because people assumed it was won .
Go out and vote!

LOL the trolls aren't making a dent in the enthusiasm. They can't counter a wave or a movement.

This convention feels like party. It's the first day of spring break. Winter is over and Aslan is coming. It's morning in America!

DP. This is a sentiment I truly don’t understand. The president for the last four years has been a Democrat! So why do we keep hearing things like the above? Don’t you think it’s been “springtime and morning in America” since Biden took office? So strange.

While Biden was a decent option in 2020 and has done a good job recovering from the problems and issues he inherited, he needs to retire. As is customary, the White House will magnify four years to have the effect on a person of 10-20 years in aging. Biden was up to the task at age 76, but clearly the 4 years has taken its toll as it has for all of his predecessors. He will be fine for the next 4 months, but he will not be fit for another four years. The real problem is that Trump is not fit to be President either. Trump on the other hand is showing his age now, more than Biden was 3 years ago. So, even if he was competent to enter office in January (which most of us are not convinced he is), he could never survive more than a year or two in office before he would be as bad or worse than Biden is now. There is no way that he would be in better shape than Biden is now by the midterms, at the latest. Additionally, while the MAGA Republicans don't seem to mind a convicted felon, serial pathological liar, serial sexual predator, business cheat, philanderer, etc, the Democrats do mind and don't want such a completely unfit candidate to be anywhere near the White House. So, even as Biden has been worn down by the office, he was still the only one of the two that was a reasonable option. Democrats were faced with what they considered to be a choice between two horrifically bad evils.

Finally one of the two terrible options was convinced to step down. And while Harris is flawed candidate, she is at least a mediocre option which is immensely better than the horrible flawed Trump. So, having an alternative to the terrible options of Biden or Trump, Harris seems like "springtime and morning in America". We have lived through the dark night of the last year of seeing no decent option to having a tolerable option. And that is why you get the sentiments you cited. Not because Biden's last 3.5 years were the problem, but because neither Trump nor Biden was a reassuring option for the next four years.

I like that she wears different clothes every day unlike Trump who wears exactly the same thing at every public appearance. That’s weird.

-She’s promising to, during her first 100 days in office, send Congress proposed federal limits on price increases for food producers and grocers.
-Harris is calling for the construction of 3 million new housing units over four years, which she says will ease a “serious housing shortage in America.” She also plans to promote legislation creating a new series of tax incentives for builders who construct “starter” homes sold to first-time homebuyers.

She also wants a $40 billion innovation fund — doubling a similar pot of money created by the Biden administration — for businesses building affordable rental housing units. Harris also wants to speed up permitting and review processes to get housing stock to the market more quickly. (no details on how this will be implemented or paid for.)
-Harris wants to speed up a Biden administration effort that has allowed Medicare and other federal programs to negotiate with drugmakers to lower the cost of prescription medications, aiming to cut the price tags of some of the most expensive and most commonly used drugs by roughly 40 percent to 80 percent starting in 2026. (A Biden policy proposal recycled.)
-Harris also pledged to work with state entities to cancel $7 billion of medical debt for up to 3 million qualifying Americans.

The vice president also proposed to make permanent a $3,600 per child tax credit approved through 2025 for eligible families, while offering a new $6,000 tax credit for those with newborn children. She says a Harris administration would work to expand the Earned Income Tax Credit to cut taxes for some frontline workers by up to $1,500 and reduce taxes on healthcare plans offered on the marketplace created by the Affordable Care Act. (frontline workers?)
