+1 We are beginning to reap our whirlwind. |
It’s not about policy or actual gas prices, it’s about the way posters here flip flop to attack the current administration. It’s ridiculous. |
It was very fair of me to attack and criticize Biden during his term and ever fairer for me to criticize and attack Trump during both of his disastrous terms. If you don't want people like me criticizing and attacking awful presidents, stop electing awful presidents!!! I promise I'll shut up if you knuckleheads elect a normal president in 2028. Until then, I'll be here to remind you of our awful leadership since Obama left office. Sorry not sorry. |
| Gas prices were low under Bush because of Kuwait and same for second Bush re Iraq war. The Saudis and OPEC tend to raise prices when democrats have the white house and hence the reliance and fascination with gas prices as a reflection of the economy and also part of why Donald Rumsfeld and the democrats have been pushing for energy independence away from fossil fuels. |
Ooof. We are in a top 1-5% HH and until our most recent car, which we lease, we have never bought a new car. |
What's ridiculous is when folks don't understand how supply and demand works? If not as many people are commuting - and there is no other external shock such as the pandemic - then the prices will fall. The drop in commuters can all be traced back to Trump. |
| No jobs report today, the first Friday of the month? |
It will be released on December 16, after the federal reserves meet to vote on cutting interest rates. The December report will combine both October and November job numbers. |
Why after? The dismal jobs report would help tilt the odds the fed cuts rates. |

How is this good news and speaking well of the economy?
