UVA ranked the top party school in the country??

Anonymous
Did anyone else see that UVA was ranked the top party school in the country this week? I'm surprised because titles like this are usually reserved for schools with poor academics. I will say though that I was shocked by some of the things that came out in the Huguely trial. At least for the athletes, the priorities seemed to be partying first, sports second, and schoolwork a distant third.

Huh? I don't care about UMD. I live in VA and think UVA is clearly a much better school than UMD. It just surprises me that UVA was given this designation.

It's always been a party school. It's a great school, but now it comes in first in partying. Go Cavs!!

UMD poster, your posts leave a bad impression about the quality of education one could receive at the school. Please stop.

Well, they couldn't really give that title to Penn State this year, could they?

I went to PSU and I've never understood why it is rated a top party school. The parties are not that great and the girls on campus are above-average at best.

USC and UCSB on the other hand.....bloody hell.

above average? What's wrong with that?
Yeah, I went to USC. University for Spoiled Children. Like PSU, a football team with a university attached to it. Expensive.

I went to UVa (graduated 2003) and would absolutely concur with the party school assessment.

The complete lack of any tangible accomplishments made by UVA grads leaves an even worse impression.

Just curious, when did college rankings get based on a handful of prominent alumni?
