I have DC who graduated from there. GC has a broad range of academic opportunities and our experience was excellent. The school can cater to those needing support through those who are high-flyers.

Worked at GC for 14 years. It is a fact that GC is one of the 3 weakest schools academically in the Archdiocese of Washington

Current teacher at an IAC school with lots of friends that teach at both WCAC and IAC schools. All of you lax parents need a reality check! Keep bragging about your precious school and how much better the academics are. Colleges don't give a crap whether you graduated from STA / GP / SJC / GC, etc... Go to whichever school is the best fit for your child. A 4.0+ student at one school looks the same as another 4.0+ student at another school. Unless you are a legacy, college admissions don't care. Lacrosse coaches definitely don't care which you school you graduate from - only your talent on field. Keep paying $50k+ Independent verses $30k for Catholic.

You just shattered some worlds here. I sense a spike in Zoloft consumption coming.

After trailing at half, nice comeback win by Bullis to beat Cardinal Gibbons, 10-8.

100 percent correct. All about the GPA not the HS. Good players with good grades will have some sort of offer from 30 or so schools.

By the way - You will pay full boat for Ivy. Many pass because of the price tag.

And many pass in the Ivy because they cannot let anybody fail. If they do, well, they should not have been admitted as they are oh so strict in who gets admitted. Some of the dumbest people I have met in life graduated from Ivy league schools. Not exactly MIT, Stanford, Navy or West Point.

Haha true. If you can straight up ball out and you got B’s/B+ the coaches will get you in.

Oh, and if you’re part of the St. Albans music program.

Cardinal Gibbons out of NC gave Bullis all they could handle last night...

Is Bullis overrated?

quite simply - yes.

Cardinal Gibbons is a big fish in a puddle in NC.

Bullis is not a very good team.

Overrated? I don't think it's overrated, no one thinks Bullis is good.

If Bullis is not a good team this year, what does that say about the DC area picture?

The Bulldogs are 100% a top 4 team in the area based on results YTD.

Bullis is as good as any other team in the DMV. The two best games they have played where vs Chestnut and St. Pauls. The rest of the games were soft scheduled games.

The DMV area is weak across the board which has been discussed here since the beginning of the season. Any of the top 5 teams can beat each other on any given day.

This Friday will be the real test For Bullis. Will they play to their potential or lay down for the Bears to run them back to Falls Road.

If Landon wins then it is a two horse race with GP and Landon.

Madlax Media in the house to call the game!!!

"Quite simply" lol

I don't know what motivates dads to post nonsense like this--Bullis has a good young team with numerous D1 commits. They're 8-1 this year. If they eat it against Gonzaga/Landon/Prep then maybe "quite simply" you can say they're not a top team this year, but for now you need to deal with it. And yeah standard disclaimer, not a Bullis dad, just getting irritated by posters in here who refuse to acknowledge reality.

People read too much into scores.

Gibbons is a very good program out of the Raleigh area from NC.

Bullis beat a very strong emerging program out of Carolina last night and I expect Gibbons to give Landon all they can handle today.

Is Gibbons on the same level as a McDonogh or a BL or Calvert Hall, of course not. But they would hold their own with the rest in the MIAA, and most teams from the WCAC / IAC.
