Roy Moore the Pedophile

Note also that the surge in support for Doug Jones is driven by women, something I've been predicting: 1 in 4 girls is sexually abused by the age of 18 and that includes Alabaman Republican women, many of whom I imagine look at Roy Moore and think of their own predator, or even the harasser at work. Even if they don't say anything about it to their DH or male relatives, they are privately thinking there's no way in hell they'd vote for a skank like him because they know all too well his type.

Wow. I think the sky is falling. Maybe there is hope for this country after all.

And the Alabama Young Republicans have renounced Roy too. Yup, there is hope.

so ALLEGEDLY (there's that missing word in 170 pages here) he "sexually assaulted" her, then 25 years later he presided over her divorce hearing--which she agreed to.

What person who was assaulted by someone (in this case a sitting judge) would agree to have their ALLEGED assaulter preside over something as important as a divorce hearing?

Do you not see how frivolous this is?

According to a prominent Alabama lawyer, he's lying when he says he presided over her divorce. He had to (no discretion) sign a motion to dismiss for papers signed by her attorney, while she had a different last name. She never appeared before him an probably had no idea he ever dealt with any of her divorce papers.

This morning, I corresponded with a prominent Alabama attorney who reviewed the filings in Nelson’s 1999 divorce case. Based on those filings, the attorney insisted, Moore’s claims in the open letter are “completely disingenuous.” Nelson, this attorney told me, “was never before Moore,” since the divorce was not litigated. Rather, as court documents show, the divorce was filed, continued, and then dismissed. “These are all unilateral actions by the lawyer for the plaintiff,” the attorney went on. “A lawyer for the other side never even appeared. It is doubtful that these documents were even given to Nelson.” In any case, the attorney told me, Moore, whose signature is only on the motion for dismissal—not the original filing or motion to continue—had no actual discretion over the case.
“When an agreed motion to dismiss is filed, Moore would have no discretion and have to sign,” the attorney continued. “Most likely, he never even looked at the parties’ names and Beverly had a different last name by then anyway.” The attorney concluded, “Moore’s lawyer’s statement that Beverly Nelson was before Moore in court and never objected to this circumstance was a lie.”

...Nelson’s divorce attorney, Rodney Ward, still practices in Gadsden. He concurred with this attorney’s analysis of Nelson’s divorce case. “I reviewed my file, and there was no hearing set in front of Judge Moore,” Ward told me this morning. “Looking at a copy of the order, it looks like Moore didn’t sign it. It looks like it was stamped by his assistant.”

So who are you going to believe? A judge who refuses to follow the law, an officer despised by his troops, a guy who sets up a non-profit that funnels a large proportion of the funds raised to his own family, or more than half a dozen women who don't know one another, most of whom are Church going and Republican, whose stories corroborate each other?

Name the prominent attorney. Is his name DOUG JONES? I am going to belive Roy Moore after reading Jones’ cases, after the Washington Post got involved in this conspiracy and until credible Alabama judge is named. Doug Jones doesn’t represent what the people, who live in Alabama believe in. He’s an ambulance chaser whose firm has a history of mistreating female associates. That does sound like the perfect Democrat candidate.

I believe Roy Moore had a history of leering at teenagers - 40 years ago. I believe Doug Jones’ could have stopped the course of actuon his firm was taking against the aggrieved assoicate and he didn’t. He didn’t care then and he doesn’t care now. He’s an ambulance chaser.

PP, are you accusing Doug Jones, the guy who prosecuted murdering Klansmen, with Roy Moore's lawyer? Moore's lawyer had his bar license suspended for ambulance chasing after the death of a 13 yo kid. You seem confused about who is who.

And all those people with sex bias suits will have a friend in Doug Jones. I honestly can’t believe you hypocrites are going to let this guy whose firm prohibited an associate from advancing due to sex bias. His firm settled. This was within the past decade. She was harassed due to her gender, fired and denied unemployment benefits.

Doug Jones will be labeled as a misogynist pig by the time I am done. He could have stopped his partnerships’ course of action against her and didn’t.

You are hypocrites. The lot of you. Remember this when 1) good looking interns and fellows aren’t hired and 2) good looking interns and fellows are kept away from members. This guy’s firm sent the settlement agreement to the lawyer the plaintiff fired after she fired them forcing her to give the 45% settlement percentage to the fired (for cause) attorney. Read the case. Read the dissent. Sick. This guy is part of the misogynist problem that really exists, not this made up crap.

How do you know this? Do the actions of the firm have to be unanimous?

It is a partnership. The firm is a small firm. He was a partner who joine in 2008. There is no way in hell he didn’t know about the gender discrimination suit. No way in hell.

You seem to be defining Mr. Jones by one case. One case that anyone who passed the bar could have sinked from half court.

Yikes. Forget that last metaphor. That was bad.

It was a case that was a slam dunk. I 100% believe the KKK case turned out the way it should have. And it is/was about time, no? It was about time. This guy is no Savior but, I sure do love you pointing out you believe he is because he did the right and just thing in a state that didn’t always get it right....like this gender discrimination case for example.

In Ruby red Alabama, even if most men support Moore, women are running away from Moore. Kudos to Women, they are fairer and less evil than men. The polls say Jones will win if the election is held today.

Doug Jones is well to the left of most Alabamians. He’d fit right in with, say, the Arlington County Board. But voters will overlook that if they think he’s a decent person. So yes, he’ll win.
