They most definitely care what everyone else does. They don’t want to risk the ramifications of going SY alone. Do they have pull? Absolutely. But to say they don’t care about anyone else is just plain stupid.

If they piss off MLS along the way, US Soccer can strong arm them

What evidence is there ECNL wants anything to do with GA. Not saying I’m against it. But I think that’s a pipe dream.

Well to start this could very well backfire.
If they go SY alone there will be some very unhappy families probably looking to leave. Where would they go? To the next best league.

There will also be some happy families excited to join as well. No parent of a superstar or high level competitor is leaving ECNL for GA.

I know families that have left ECNL for GA.

How can you speak for millions of kids

Obviously kids/families leave ECNL? But when one leaves there is 5 looking to take that 18th roster spot and doesn’t play much. I’d prefer my kid play the whole game in GA as well if they couldn’t get enough PT in ECNL.

But millions of competitive kids? Are not leaving ECNL for GA unless they are forced out which means ECNL teams have already replaced them.

A July kid who’s competitive will still want to play ECNL if they are able to play.

I bet you wear an ECNL hat

Cant decide which is worse than you, that you still think the hat thing is funny after the 18th time you trot it out or the fact you never actually debate any issues, one way or the other, just attack the other side. You remind me of Milton in Office Space.

I think the ECNL hat thing is funny.

I also think it's funny because it's true.

Not true but ironic considering how many times I have responded to my own posts.

Apparently there's others that think ECNL hats are dumb as well.

ECNL is already a done deal they are just letting us soccer go through the process. But some leagues especially boys may decide to stay BY.

SOCAL soccer people not going down without a fight.

Good morning everyone!

After the email that I sent yesterday regarding the US Soccer proposed birth year changes I received quite a bit on feedback. Based on some of the feedback I decided to create a questionnaire that our club leadership can

complete regarding this issue. Directors of Coaching should be completing this questionnaire.

It is important that we get your collective answers, questions and comments so that I can have the necessary data to provide US Club Soccer prior to the US Soccer vote in November. Your voices should be heard and taken into

consideration. There should be full transparency on this discussion and those of you in the trenches and on the field should be included in discussions on important changes such as this. My aim is to make that happen and while

I'll probably make some enemies along the way, it's the right thing to do. SOCAL is the largest market and the deepest talent pool when it comes to youth soccer in this country. Your opinions matter!

So please take a few minutes to complete this questionnaire and please do so no later than Wednesday, October 16 at 5pm. I'll be sharing the information with US Club Soccer later this week.

Thank you

This is just a show. The writing is already on the wall. There are too many gains for ECNL to move to SY. They will not pause. 11/22 is not a "vote" actually. It is an announcement.

Why go through all effort to collect club feedback on if BY or SY makes the most sense for SOCAL league members if it's a "done deal".

US Club Soccer and SOCAL make a lot of $$$ doing nothing other than maintaining a registry of players. If you alienate your customers they're going to go somewhere else for the same service.

SOCAL is Youth Rec and Comp teams not ECNL. SOCAL league is the largest in the country. If they are going to fight the change that’s a big deal.

The problem is the big clubs affiliated with SOCAL have ECNL, ECRL, NPL teams which will they openly go against ECNL?but I agree SOCAL league has a lot of influence and many of the teams are not playing in the higher level leagues.

They will collect money regardless. Will we get a crazy tryout window? Absolutely, but kids will keep playing soccer, teams will get formed, life will go on. Business as usual.

This is not a small change. It is a big change. I am very sure there have already been many months of discussion and negotiations among all those interested parties. Everyone in power is well aware of this progress and the direction. The "vote" result will not be a surprise, as the organization has already taken time to prepare for this significant change. That is why ECNL can do this in 25/26. The so called feedback seeking is just a political way to ask you to shutup.
