US Club (ECNL) vs US Soccer/MLS Next/GA/AYSO

Just think about that for a second and tell me how ECNL will leverage this.

USYS

What is the evidence that USYS is against the change?

It sounds like they are aligning with us club soccer. According to the ECNL president. So whatever Us club has decided is what USYS will do as well.

“It sounds”. You don’t know what US Soccer is saying to USYS.

The Socal email said US Club Soccer and USYS will vote the same. And we already know what they are going to vote for.

The email also states that US Soccer will defer it back to each individual league.

That is false.

They will decide for everyone.

I used to doubt it because it is not in Socal link. Then an admin of a Socal club (whom I know) confirmed it in the FB group, then I know it is real. The intention of that email to Doc is to let them know it is a "done" deal and they need to prepare for the change in their clubs. That is my interpretation of that email. Of course, you can have your own Reality Distortion Field.

They most definitely care what everyone else does. They don’t want to risk the ramifications of going SY alone. Do they have pull? Absolutely. But to say they don’t care about anyone else is just plain stupid.

If they piss off MLS along the way, US Soccer can strong arm them

What evidence is there ECNL wants anything to do with GA. Not saying I’m against it. But I think that’s a pipe dream.

Well to start this could very well backfire.
If they go SY alone there will be some very unhappy families probably looking to leave. Where would they go? To the next best league.

There will also be some happy families excited to join as well. No parent of a superstar or high level competitor is leaving ECNL for GA.

I know families that have left ECNL for GA.

How can you speak for millions of kids

Obviously kids/families leave ECNL? But when one leaves there is 5 looking to take that 18th roster spot and doesn’t play much. I’d prefer my kid play the whole game in GA as well if they couldn’t get enough PT in ECNL.

But millions of competitive kids? Are not leaving ECNL for GA unless they are forced out which means ECNL teams have already replaced them.

A July kid who’s competitive will still want to play ECNL if they are able to play.

I bet you wear an ECNL hat

Cant decide which is worse than you, that you still think the hat thing is funny after the 18th time you trot it out or the fact you never actually debate any issues, one way or the other, just attack the other side. You remind me of Milton in Office Space.

You can hold your wishful thinking until 11/22. My kid is in MLSN to avoid trap year. I am open to have more available options in ECNL after the change.

I also think it's funny because it's true.

Anonymous wrote:Any coaches on here that can guide me through how most clubs with pursue this?

1. Do you think clubs will keep rosters the same?

2. Do you think clubs will build the strongest possible teams?

How does a club approach this change?

I would imagine top clubs like SD Surf, SLSG, FC Stars, PDA will keep teams the same so that they can play other clubs older players?

I have a trapped G2010 and I reached out to several top 2011 coaches.

The 2011 coaches referred me to their 2010 coaches or their DOC. When I spoke with them on the phone they all offered a tryout assessment. The all also said that they don't know what will happen with BY v SY.

These are some of the top clubs in the nation. If they don't know what will happen with BY and aren't specifically looking for trapped players. The idiots that are saying SY is a lock aren't being honest.

First tryout is at 4:30 today. PST

I would imagine coaches have been told to not say a word bc it will cause chaos.

There will be chaos regardless. Parents of kids both trapped and not trapped now need to plan for scenario A, B, C and D

If this was true DOCs would be looking for and recruiting trapped players.

This is not happing.(right now)

My kid is playing 2012 and will now be a 2014. I have had 3 coaches reach out. Top Top clubs. DOnt call us we will call U.

So your currently playing U13 11v11 and would drop down to 12U or however they label it 9v9 next year?

Maybe if the team is strong enough and will be a national final type team.

If anyone wants to know what is wrong with American girls soccer they should watch the U17 game that is on right now. Spain is carving them up. It is what happens when you value athleticism over soccer skills. Spain has 6 Kennedy Fullers.

I bet if the u17 game was ulimited subs and allowed a 30 player bench. (Like college soccer)

We'd be winning.

ECNL in the podcast questioned USSF's authority for a mandate but said they do have influence.
