| We have two cats and are having a debate about how often the litter box should be cleaned. How often do you clean it? |
| Daily. Anything less and the cat tends to miss the box. He has trained us well. |
|
We have one indoor cat and just one litter box.
We scoop every day, sometimes twice a day. I completely empty all litter and scrub the box with hot water/cleaner once per week, then refill with new clean litter. |
| Every day. I loathe it but waiting longer is much worse. |
| When you all say "clean every day", are you just talking about scooping--or do you completely empty, scrub down, and refill with new litter? |
| When I had two cats, I had two litter boxes that I cleaned twice daily. Completely changed the litter & clean the boxes every week. |
We do the same. |
| well I guess I am a terrible owner. we have one cat and two litter boxes in our basement and we clean once per week. guess I should step it up for my furry little guy! |
| Two cats, two boxes. Scoop 2-3 x per day and empty and clean and replace litter weekly. |
| Those of you who also clean the box each week...do you use litter box liners, or just pour the litter directly in the box? |
I've been pouring it right into the box, but I just got liners today because I'm getting tired of washing the pan out every week... |
|
Two cats.
I use liners and extra large litter box and I change the liner and replace the litter once a week. I used to scoop more often and need to get back to that. We use feline pine litter. |
| wow. One indoor cat-- scoop it out every other day. Change it out 1 a month. We used to change it out once a week- but then started putting a lot more in to change it out less frequently. Cat has never had a litter box problem. |
| 2 cats, 1 box. Scoop every other day. Though occasionally I admit 1x every 3 days. Its so gross. Wish one of you super scoopers would come scoop mine. |
| If we don't scoop a few times a day and change the box before it starts to smell after about a week, our cat won't use it and will go on the carpet. |
