She was outnumbered and assaulted. The gang of larger men harassing her made a much larger scene.

She tried not to yell -- her not yelling enough was one of the reasons trolls accused her of faking being upset!

It's quite telling that you prioritize a criminal's fear of being harmed by police, over a woman's fear of being beaten or raped by men.

When you feel threatened the appropriate response is to yell for help.

She didn't yell and scream and stop making it about those men as the victim when they aren't. She grabbed his phone to see the receipt. If they are such fine men, why not stand up and say your side. The sisters side makes sense.

There is a double standard in your analysis. No woman should assault a man by grabbing at his phone to get her way. If this had been reversed, a man doing this to a group of women, there would be outcry. She should keep her hands to herself.

I thought she grabbed his phone to stop him scanning the QR code

Either way, she should have kept her hands to herself. Women cannot scream equal rights and then demand deference when things don't go their way. She acted like a petulant child and was the aggressor by grabbing his phone and touching him, even if she was technically right by one minute to a few minutes regarding the bike rental. If he had put his hands on her or her property, there would be rightful outrage.

She was wrong to grab the phone but she was also probably trying to get her to let her go and he's basically restraining her. If he wanted that bike, his rear end should have been on it holding it. She was probably trying to look at the receipt.

How was he restraining her? He restrained the bike but not her person.

When there is an altercation between several young males and a single female any age, I am inclined to give a pass to the female, no matter the race of any of them.
It’s just not right to argue let alone fight with a female for a group of males.

That was after he shoved the the bike (and her) back into the dock, after she rented it, and then lied about it. He should keep his hands to himself first.
If this were Florida or Texas, and she was packing heat, she could have legally killed him in self defense.

Omg she was not screaming bloody murder. Not even close. She yelled for help. A pretty lame yell at that. She was probably exhausted from her shift and just wanted out of the situation.

I didn't see video of her getting shoved. Is this what her sister is saying or is there nearby claims to substantiate her claims of being shoved.

With the info that a PP provided, it seems like the people filming were gaming the bike rental system by docking their bike after 45 minutes so they didn’t have to pay a fee, then waiting however long (5 minutes? 10 minutes?) for the free rental period to reset. In that time the PA came up and tried to rent the bike which she thought was not in use per the availability on the bike rental app. And it, indeed, was not in use as it was docked and available to take out. Before the video started, the other group of individuals were likely on a bench somewhere near by and she didn’t see them, then when she tried to take out the bike during the free rental cooldown window is when they approached. And she probably hesitated instead of just riding off, and that’s when the whole thing started.

The group is still in the wrong, of course. You can try to hack the system, but it doesn’t always work.

But other bikes were available. Why did they want that specific one?

Was it the last e-bike? I couldn’t tell … or maybe they were just “going to” reserve that one but they were sitting around for awhile and then stepped up when the PA came by to legitimately rent it to go home.

DP. There was apparently another e-bike that she rented and took home. Unless she pedaled a regular bike home pregnant.

Why the guys couldn’t have rented it is unknown.

But of course she, not they, needed to change bikes. And she’s still a racist. SMH.

What does this have anything to do with race?

The online mob is calling her a racist who weaponizes her white women's tears to get black men killed a la Emmet Till.

Okay when a group of young men are surrounding and taunting a pregnant woman snd physically prevented her in progress departure they need to plan on her being angry, scared, and yes, calling for help.

And yet for all the yelling she did, the dry tears and such, she immediately went along her merry way when a passerby merely suggested that she try for a different bike. She blanked for a minute, because you could tell that it never occurred to her to just check out the bike right next to the one she was carrying on about. This could have ended much earlier, if they had conveyed that they were waiting for the system to reset and if she had checked out the bike right next to their bike.

She was on the bike and he was holding the bike and shoving it into the rack. Maybe she grabbed it to get his hands off the bike and make him refocus on the phone? It actually is kinda cleaver. He had his hands on her and the bike.

What on earth was she supposed to do? No one would care if she reported it to the police as it's been reported and the police have done nothing. So, her only option was to get off the bike, get a new one and go home. She was pregnant off a 12 hours shift. One can assume she was pretty tired.

Why didn't the men just change around bikes or take a free bike? None of that makes sense.

She was doing no such thing and the men posted the video as she didn't have a video. She let the situation go and didn't report it and just went home. THEY posted it online.

He reached across her pregnant belly to scan his QR code. He touched her then.
