Thoughts? |
She's a female, black, daughter of immigrants Mormon who has been mayor of a small town for 2 years. Yet she gets a spoton the convention to make a speech for a party that has a problem with blacks, immigrants, and women.
So you tell me. Is there something that stands out in her career aside from her gender and heritage? |
She's the typical self hating GOP female religious freak. Why is she worthy of our attention? |
I think we are going to see eery female politician they can find. How can there only be 24 republican women in the house with 240 total republicans??? |
She's wonderful. Definitely a strong woman. |
Teo weeks ago you never heard of her. And my mom is a string woman. Surprise, she was not invited to speak at the convention. |
Your mom ain't shiat. |
if anyone has really been paying attention, ms love has been making news and/or her name has been circulating the rounds.
sure shes a black female republican but i think the fact that shes a legitimate candidate warrants her a speaking spot at the convention. im a dem saying all this so i have nothing to gain here. and i recall some random black state senator running for senate getting a speaking spot back in 2004 for our side. i wonder what ever happened to that guy |
Has been on the City Council since 2003. Is running for Congress. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mia_Love |
I think her comments demonstrate a lack of understanding for the system racism and poverty that black Americans have faced in this country for decades. It is not an excuse, for sure, but it is an explanation. I heard nothing in her speech but platitudes, which to me sure makes it seem that she was given a spot as a token. "See? There are smart black females in our party!" Never mind that there's NO ONE who looks like her in the audience. Surely that should tell her something. |
^^systemic racism, I should say. |
Here's her speech - I think she's an incredibly talented politician, regardless of whether I agree or not.

Were she born in the USA she'd be an all too common self loathing black female wanting to deny her black heritage. Not being US born she rejects those blacks who have the common experience of racial hatred. She's a convenient tool of the media and the party |
So she's the wrong kind of black? |
Seriously! |
