This exact post probably applies to all the local clubs — stars, pride, mc elite, blc |
OMG. They didn’t go to Capital YET! The season hasn’t officially ended until the last tournament is over. This was a petty move by KMG to “exact revenge@ on those poor girls. She’s done this to kids before - “kicked them off a team” before the last tournament because they were going to a different club the following season. The parents paid for this tournament and I’m sure the girls would have liked one last hurrah together. Really crappy move. |
Ha these same parents complaining about the team being pulled because it negatively affected their daughters, had no problem making side deals with capital to get their daughters on the team screwing over other girls. |
| All of this debate about Capital vs Pride aside, the bottom line is that when you look at the top 10 rankings for 22 through 25 on US Lacrosse neither of these clubs is represented while at every age level you see teams like Heroes, M&D, Sky Walkers, Monsters, Top Guns. That consistency carries across to recruiting. Capital can tout the 21 class but there are plenty of 22 players who have not committed to play in college and time will tell with the 23 class this fall. Some strong players will always be able to stand out but going back and forth between these two clubs going forward seems like a somewhat futile effort if your goal is to play on a top team and have a college career. |
What clubs do you think are run better and more organized in the DMV area? Pride is the worst with communication and totally dysfunctional about coaches, etc. The 3 MC teams all have big issues, especially BLC. So what are you considering your options? Stars definitely isn't perfect and has things to improve on but the alternatives aren't any better. |
Very classic move. It’s hard to believe grown adults can act this way and it’s tolerated on any level. |
Typical of said coach and petty. This stuff happens in club and it's not like she is clear of doing these type of things. |
Yep just like grown adults holding private tryouts and promising spots to girls if they go as a group (and don’t offer spots to other girls). I don’t know why adults would get involved in children’s sports if, at the end of the day, they really don’t care about the children. |
| So is Rebels tryout really 3.5 h long? |
Same as Capital. |
Private tryouts are common. I’m guessing there were even some going on this weekend at Mid-Atlantic. Maybe the Pride girls felt awkward playing so withdrew themselves? Either way a sad way to wrap up the season and many years playing together for the majority. |
| Shame about the Pride team. They were very good. I am sure capital will be pretty good. The club tryout model is a mess. |
This was KM's decision. Imagine trying to coach a team when half are leaving mainly because of you? Might have been a little awkward. |
How were the Stars HS tryouts? Hearing that they are having 1 team made up mainly of Capital rejects and Pride White refugees. |
Agree, seems like every club tryout is run by a bunch of children with no competence. This isn't just a DMV issue, lots of nonsense going on with Heros and M&D over the past week. What a shame it's become this. |
