Thanks to the Obama years, the GOP has a pretty decent talent pool for 2024. |
MAGA equals white ethnocentric fascist minority rule. |
None of them have a tenth of the charisma that Obama had. Josh Hawley? Ron DeSantis? Tom Cotton? Mike Pence? Ted Cruz again? Weenies. |
Charisma is in the eye of the beholder. DP |
Well yeah, but this beholder hates Trump but still thinks he has charisma. Does any beholder who’s not married to those guys on that list think they have any charisma at all? |
Well but the proof is in the pudding. Obama had a blockbuster speech and a bestselling book that gave proof to his charisma. Do any of those guys have a blockbuster speech no one could look away from, or a blockbuster book? They've all been in the public eye a long time, and they've all got their attention-getting stunts - but I wouldn't say that any of them have shown the power to captivate like Obama did. DeSantis might come closest - gag - but I think that's actually just the character of DeSantis that the media's been putting in front of people. On the right, this masterful Dem-triggering power lord, and on the left, I guess this death-seeking Dem-triggering power lord. I hate him with the power of a thousand suns but I don't see him as being a power lord at all. He's a Bad Place Bobby Newport who whines and wears suits that are too big. I have yet to see him give a captivating speech. YMMV. |
No one wants charisma anymore. |
Well, apparently the GOP wants a demagogue |
Really? Then why is Donald Trump the leader of your party? All he has is that weird circus charisma. No ideas, no strategies, no anything at all - just some weird "can't look away" quality. |
I’d love it if those idiots stayed home
They won’t, but hey, keep talking Donnie |
They did in Georgia. |
did they, though? Or were they just overwhelmed? |
Turnout in Marjorie Taylor Greene’s overwhelmingly Republican district was way down from the Presidential election compared to other areas, so yeah, I think they did stay home. Trump basically told them to. |
