Today DD screamed “I don’t understand why JiJi doesn’t just jump over the gap!! Why is she so lazy?!”

For the record, DD has a love/hate relationship with this game. Mostly loves it until she has a hard time and then she rage quits. Today was a rage quit, but she asked her dad for help after dinner and now loves it again...until the next time that damn penguin pisses her off.

Lol! My kid told me he doesn’t understand why the penguin doesn’t just use the rocket to fly over 😭

Mine wanted to drown the penguin...have him walk the plank and fall in. Apparently, there is no way to drown the penguin. For the record, I was a top math student throughout school and I tried the ST math and found it infuriating. Someone needs to be help accountable for making this a county wide form of torture.

DD and her 3 friends drew Jiji on pieces of paper, I helped them build a fire, and they burned her. They really seemed to enjoy it, and I honestly don't blame them (they even started with age appropriate stuff).

They were told that ST Math is a "significant part of their grades". Can they mandate that it be used? Is there any point to offering to the teacher that I can have the kids do an alternate math activity instead?

It was purchased this summer as a way for teachers to have asynchronous math on the days that children were not in school.

Does anyone get information on how kids are actually doing on it? I saw no progress reports so I requested one....*crickets.* I tried it and thought it should have never made it to market.

Lack of explicit instructions? Is that what you're complaining about?

Talk to your DC. They know what they're supposed to be doing. They've figured it out.

Talk to your DC. They know what they're supposed to be doing. They've figured it out.


Not really. DD's math teacher routinely pulls in small groups of kids, to work with them on ST Math, because they're stuck, stuck, stuck, and cannot figure out how to move forward. Even after showing them how to do a sample problem, they often go on to get stuck on other problems from the same module, because they aren't really understanding the concepts. Even my DD and her friend, who have made considerable progress, are basically figuring out how to manipulate objects on the screen to get through, and not really connecting it to anything that they're learning.
