Good, but Mayor Jacob Frey should be out there right NOW to get the rioters off the streets BEFORE more people get killed! Don’t they have a stay-at-home order anyways?

He should be leading the protest.

Maybe he doesn’t want to get hurt by the savage violence.

Fck you racist trash.

Bet you were very concerned when these guys were protesting.

Where is the violent looting and rioting?

I would show this video to my kid and say "Whatever you do, do not make the police get physical with you. Do what they ask you to do and keep your hands where they can see them. If they ask you for your license and registration and you have to reach into the glove compartment to get them, say "Officer, I need to reach into the glove compartment to get my registration. I need to reach in my pocket to get my license."

In fact, I have already told my kid just that.

I am NOT defending that cop for kneeling on that man's neck until he died BUT this all could have been avoided if that man had been respectful and compliant from the get go. Again - I am not saying that what this cop did was in anyway excusable. I am saying that the man would still be alive today had he been respectful and compliant with the officers.

We need to get this message across to our kids somehow, someway.

That man did NOTHING to warrant getting murdered please stop trying to make this his fault.

True!!!
Teach your kids to obey the laws!!!

Yes, because they might grow up to be police officers.

Whose parents are we judging here? The ones who raised the racist asshole who murdered a man by kneeling on his neck? The ones who raised the officers who just stood there and let it happen?

Looting and Riots. One tragedy after another....

I understand the rioters. I’d imagine the good cops there would be like F this and sit at home for awhile and let the people vent their anger. The murder was horrible.

These MFers need to stand down.

You are not black so shut the hell up. Men like him are pinned like that for being black, not for being disrespectful. You are just as bad as that cop. While people need to wake up and stop being so oblivious. Share this video in history class to all the white kids. You never see this in the damn history books

You want your kid to live then you will tell them exactly what I posted above. When you are resisting arrest/not complying your odds of being hurt or killed during an encounter with the police Go UP.

Being compliant is not a guarantee that a cop won't shoot you or physically harm you in some way but the odds are much lower that you will get hurt.

So if you’re not respectful to or compliant with the police then it’s your fault if the cops kill you.
Makes perfect sense.

If a white women who curses at a cop about a parking ticket gets choked out and dies - her fault.

If an ornery old white man who argues with a cop for not doing something about his neighbors’ uncut grass gets tasered and dies - his fault.

If a ten year-old white boy riding a skateboard gets shot and dies after he’s told to get out the street and he gave a cop the finger which the officer saw in his rear view mirror when driving off - kids fault.

DISRESPECT IS PUNISHABLE BY DEATH!!

I’d like to hear some constructive solutions here...

And yes, the criminal cops (and others) must be held accountable!!

The Minneapolis protestors were faced with this:

I’m furious for them.

The mayor should be out leading them tonight. Tear down that police department.

I'm not black, but you're making my blood boil. Pretty much every black person I know, especially parents of boys, has this conversation with their kids...except, it's more like, "One day the police will get physical with you. This is what you do to stay alive." As another PP pointed out, Philando Castile did everything you are describing...and he got murdered in front of a pre-schooler for it.

I have said that you can do everything right and still have this happen. The man in this particular video that we have been talking about DID resist arrest, he was not compliant and that is why the officers took him to the ground. The officer should never have kneeled on the man's neck like that. But the bottom line is the one who is dead is the guy who got his neck kneeled on. Would he have gotten his neck kneeled on if he had simply complied - most likely NO.

Agree. I think the protests should be huge to get a point across. Middle age white man here and I couldn’t stop thinking about this today. It’s got to stop. How can we make this stop! I support the protesters and the police should stand down and let it run its course. These killers need to be in pretrial detention.

The mayor and the police chief should have been out there holding a candlelight vigil last night. Not tear gassing the protestors.

The person who most needs to change in this scenario is the murderer, NOT the murder victim. Go away. Your people are on stormfront.

No. The police officer is 100% responsible for his actions. No victim blaming here.
