I find these predictions laughable. Someone said when the store broke Lori would be signing a deal for a reality show within a week. The only deal she's signing is the one for a court-ordered prison stint. And for those who bring up Kim or Paris, again what they didn't wasn't ILLEGAL. Which is why Lori was already kicked of the Hallmark Channel and Netflix. |
I think the main difference between the two is that Huffman's plea deal was more palatable than Loughlin's deal. Huffman was advised to plead guilty and accept a possible short stint in the slammer. Laughlin's plea deal was not nearly so sweet and she was not inclined to accept a deal that involved her spending years behind bars. She really did not think that what she did was a big deal. She may never get it. Huffman, I think, knew from the get go that what she did was illegal and shady (thus her desire to hide what was happening from her daughter). Loughlin's daughters posed for pics on rowing machines and Olivia Jade didn't even bother to show up for class, you think she bothered to study for tests or prepare presentations? Nah. She was there for the parties and social scene. |
Martha Stewart went to jail and she's richer than ever. Mel Gibson was arrested for a DUI and made anti-semitic remarks on camera. He was a pariah for like 2 years before he bought his way back into Hollywood. Lori Laughlin is enjoying more press than she's ever had. It will take time for the dust to settle, but when it does, she'll have a bigger spotlight. Again, I think it's pretty grotesque--but we are all suckers for this kind of drama. |
Weren’t they just a Target brand forever? I graduated HS in 91 and remember it being popular then, but don’t think I’ve seen it since Target dropped the line. |
For every Martha there’s a Teresa Guidice or Abby from Dance Moms. Both are suffering. Martha owns her own company, production studios and is a CEO. Big difference. |
Any plea deal that they make with Laughlin should include a gag order. No way should she be profiting off this. |
Yes, money is the difference! The reality "stars" have very little capital on which to build and often go broke paying lawyer's fees. Lori Laughlin is worth like 80 million dollars. Money begets more money. Y'all can disagree with me now, but wait 5 years! The daughter will be a household name. |
Touché. I will admit that I really like Felicity Huffman and her husband. She deserves whatever she gets but it's kind of a bummer that she was involved in this; like discovering that Betty White runs an illegal gambling ring.
|
And Martha also handled it better. When she was convicted, she chose not to appeal and to go straight to prison early to get her sentence over with. I admired that. |
Lori isn’t worth $80 million, her husband is. If he wants to spend it on his daughters YouTube hobby more power to them but they aren’t the type of family which does well on reality TV. Not trashy enough for E and not wholesome enough for TLC. No one watches Laguna Beach rich and snobby celebrity shows anymore - they have to be willing to be whores or drug addicts or born-again Christians. |
Oh, there are plenty of sweet little old ladies who gamble and shoot whiskey. I can totally see Betty White doing that. Felicity Huffman....what she did was pathetic and, yes, given the testing environment I do think that her daughter knew something shady was happening and knew not to ask too many questions... |
|
I suspect Lori's daughter Olivia Jade will make a come back and be bigger than ever. Even if she knew, she didn't want to go to college and there was no way to get out of the lie unless she wanted to run away from home and turn her parents in.
Lori though is toast. Her decision to act like an entitled sorority girl will cost her more than jail time and money. She was a cheap piece of shit. She could have gone the legal way and spent 5 or 10 million on a donation to get the girls in. |
They are married and they were both indicted. They are not at risk of going broke, and don't even need to bother with the reality show route. I don't think you understand the power of YouTube to younger generations. Kylie got her foot into the cosmetic industry by sharing her makeup tips on Snapchat. She had visibility on Snapchat because she's part of a wealthy and famous family. A lot of privilege and a little bit of notoriety go a long way in this country. You don't have to like it, but it's happening. |
| Betty White running a gambling ring would be the most badass thing ever. |
Umm you’re the one saying Olivia will be a household name. To do that she needs to make it big OFF YouTube or do you think The Weekend and Justin Bieber are famous bcs they stuck it out doing cover songs on YouTube? It’s because they have talent and sell out stadiums. Olivia is pretty but has no talent and from her own videos - is dumb as a box of rocks. I don’t see her being a movie star, she’s not beautiful. She could get some secondary roles on TV but she’s too old for Disney and most CW shows or ABC where ‘young’ stars breakout. Modeling is also out - not young enough, attractive enough, or famous enough to do a Bella Hadid. So pray tell what exactly makes Olivia special enough to be a household name besides reality tv and a sex tape? That’s if she was willing to suck off on camera to get the fame. |
