Only by the people obsessed with her mole and her general existence |
You are participating in a gossip thread about her. Doesn’t that make you obsessed? |
I’m wondering why she’s such a hot topic here. Not even venturing into the mole thread. There’s nothing of substance. |
It's not just here she's a hot topic. She's been in the news so of course she will be a hot topic here |

Yes! The Blake Lively Backlash Was A Long Time Coming. #TeamLeighton

it’s not rocket science to figure this out. People are annoyed. Same tone as the JO thread. Celebrities have to walk a fine line because we all know they are typically better looking at us, richer than us, and probably having more fun at their jobs at least some days than we do. And some things just come easier for them. You can either flaunt it in peoples faces and don’t share a shred of vulnerability and just only want to talk about how great your life is, how pretty your hair is, how supportive your husband is, how you are able to effortlessly balance motherhood with working Because you and your very very busy husband magically never have to work at the same time (And don’t dare mention a nanny or 4 which you definitely have lol)…. Or you can do it Jen garner style and make fun of how you embarrass your kids at the bus stop in your robe, bake something at 6 am with very little make up and a pony tail and sweats, promote your organic snack line in very frumpy overalls instead of glamming it up, and know that everyone knows you have a hot, rich CEO boyfriend you’ve been with for six years but you never talk about it because you’ve been burned before talking about past relationships. JLO and Blake chose the first path and that is risky because at the first slip which is inevitably out of their control even though you’ve had quite the command of your media coverage in the past, yea, people are going to roll their eyes. They might even not buy your product or mute you on social for a bit. People might come out of your past and talk about what an as you were during gossip girl or show an interview where you were rude eight years earlier. Oh well. Blake and JLO will be fine. But they can’t control the new cycles forever. |

There’s a list of celebrities I find so inexplicably off-putting, I can’t even look at a picture of them without shuddering. It’s a relief and kind of unsettling when they’re inevitably outed as being a foul person, and in some cases an actual criminal.

I can’t believe people think this way. I’ve never heard a man say about another man that he better be vulnerable and not talk about how great his hair is or else people might get annoyed. This is some deeply pathetic crap. |
| Blake and JLo are talked about in different ways and for different reasons. People find JLo messy, annoying, and maybe frustrating. But they gossip about her for fun. The discourse around Blake is dark. |
In what way? |
I don’t think it’s a female male thing. I’d say the same about any celeb trying to sell me a product. Certainly men can be as insufferable. Looking at you Ryan reynolds, Brad Pitt and Tom cruise. Ryan is annoying and inauthentic. Tom is a dangerous cult leader and Brad is a nasty abusive drunk. You are right that the public gives them a lot more grace. I personally don’t not see any of their movies, but generally, they’ve been quite successful. |
People think she’s mean, dismissive of DV victims, and racist. She’s being accused of using her husband’s power to try to blacklist her co-star. Some gossip columnists are calling her scary. People talking about Blake are hurt and angry. JLo is harmless. |
But men don’t have these ridiculous expectations of other men. |
Fair point. Vulnerability is the wrong word. Blake is asking a lot of her fans right now. She has a movie, she’s crossed promoting Deadpool, which she is also in. She has a hair line out and two drink companies. She’s every where. I don’t know, I’m not in PR or marketing. Im sure there is a double standard. I will say I’m equally sick of Ryan trying to sell me a phone, two movies, gin and an English football team documentary. Enough already! |
Yup if anyone watched the show then they would have been well aware of the rumors of how nasty Blake is. It doesn't stop there either. There were rumors she was all over Ben affleck during filming too. |
