At least 14 former wrestlers have written a letter of support.

Fourteen former Ohio State University wrestlers have gone on the record to refute claims that Rep. Jim Jordan ignored allegations of sexual abuse while serving as an assistant coach more than two decades ago, according to a group set up to provide a public defense for the Ohio Republican.

It's odd, because Hellickson basically said the same thing. Hellickson said that he himself acted and that Jordan was a good coach and did the same thing. Jordan says that he did not act.

Wrestler #8 has now come out with allegations against Soapy Jim. There are probably still more.

According to wrestler 8, who spoke on condition of anonymity, Jordan was a “phony” for denying that he knew about the alleged abuse when he was an assistant coach for the wrestling team.

“I remember coming up and saying, ‘Strauss held my balls longer than normal.’ He [Jordan]just snickered,” the wrestler said.

He should resign.

I don't understand how this is a smear. What part of coaching is it to allow sexual harrassment of your trainees to continue unabated?

Originally I just thought that Jim had watched inappropriate behavior. Then I thought perhaps he saw or knew more serious assault. Now based on his weirdly aggressive take (claiming “fake news” for journalists performing the act of journalism in contacting people who’ve known him) I think he escalated his own behavior and knows that someone knows it. He’s acting scared and aggressive.
