OMG. These pet owners are thoroughly disgusting! |
|
Did you hear on the news last week about the unprovoked, unsolicited behavior of a dog who bit a girl out of nowhere? The owner walked away from the victim without even providing contact information or immunization details. Now the poor girl's family is searching for the owner and also getting the girl all possible shots.

It also involves the health of people who have allergic reactions. I don't know how to go about this, but, if you have any ideas, please do.

They all say "service animal" if asked when they bring them in. We all know about 98% of this is bullshit. Once in a while somebody says "emotional support animal", but we all know that these aren't even covered under the ADA. If you need emotional support, pet owner, bring a friend with you to shop.

I saw dog feces within 2 feet of a CVS entrance. Obviously, if they are in the store, the accident happens there instead.

I once heard a CVS regional manager say that he had to replace a few thousand dollars worth of carpeting in one of his stores due to dog excretions.

You don’t realize that people steal dogs? |
|
I can see having your dog with you while you run a quick errand, but why would anyone want their dog with them while they shop at Macy’s? I don’t even want to take my kids with me, so I just don’t get this. It doesn’t even seem like an enjoyable outing for the dog. What is the appeal?
People who take their dogs into places like Whole Foods do seem like self-centered jerks. |
Nobody will steal your dog!!! If it's such an issue, then leave it at home or in the car and walk it later!!! Stores have no-pet policies for a reason!!! FYI, 2 people in 1 family I know were attacked by the same dog, a supposedly nice, fine dog belonging to their neighbors!!! Also, some of us are in the pharmacy specifically to pick up allergy medications because the problem is already out of control!!! Couple that with extreme fear and uneasiness, and you are creating an absolutely unbearable experience!!! |
If you need it for the quick errand, then still leave it outside! There's no reason that shopping should be an uneasy experience for other citizens! |
They certainly are self-centered jerks. We all know that about 98% of such dogs are NOT service dogs, so PLEASE do NOT say that they are. After all, faking service-animal status is a federal crime. People who do it should be ashamed of themselves. They are also actually harming people who have and need legitimate service dogs. I recently heard about an in-store experience in which a dog, obviously a pet, was antagonizing a seeing-eye dog and thereby endangering the truly handicapped. Think about this the next time you contemplate bringing your pet into a business establishment! |
|
I just saw a woman with a large (actually, size doesn't matter) dog in Whole Foods!!! I heard the words "service dog" mumbled, but come on, people!!! We all know this is bull crap!!! WTF is wrong with these people? I was reaching for a cup of yogurt and almost dropped it on the floor because I was so startled!!! Obviously its behavior was not that of a dog trained to do anything!!! Speaking of items dropped on the floor, I've heard about multiple incidents of dog urine and droppings on floors of stores!!! These people should be ashamed of themselves!!! Faking service-dog status is a federal crime, so don't do it! I totally agree with the above respondent. After all, if you were blind or deaf and could not totally get around on your own, how would you feel about people trying to gain the privileges that are yours but not theirs? Would you want random people's pets knowingly or unknowingly antagonizing your legitimate service dog?

If you really think your dog could be stolen, then leave it at home. Hey, some people have doghouses. Maybe you should be careful there. People could trespass and steal. I reiterate: if you have a problem worrying about dog stealers, then just leave the dog at home and don't ruin other people's shopping experience. |
| I take my dog into CVS. It is allowed per their rules. I only take her in after she has done her business so there is no chance of accidents. I don’t have a car so can’t leave her in there. And certainly wouldn’t want to tie her up outside unsupervised. By the way, there are many posts kvetching about people who tie their dogs up outside. Some of you people just hate dog owners no matter what we do. |
Asking seriously and without snark: Why is she with you when you are heading to a place like a store? Do you mean you're on the way home from taking her to the dog park? Picked her up from her "dog day care" as you're walking/taking a bus home from work and need to stop at CVS? Heading home from taking her to the vet? Or just combining the tasks of walking her and going to CVS? Genuinely trying to understand the circumstances in which an owner has the dog with them when knowing they plan to enter places where (even if the store "allows" it) bringing in a dog is going to get you the side eye at best and is possibly going to affect someone with allergies, for example. Not busting your chops over this, PP. Just not getting how the dog ends up being part of the CVS trip at all. My guess is that you're walking the dog and use the walk to go to the store as well, doing two chores at once. |
