The Board should be evaluating the impact on potential students, as this drama and fluid changing of the program may depress future enrollment. Those parents are certainly not being engaged.

DP, but often, those impacted down the line by these decisions aren't really paying attention. I started looking at middle and high school options when DC was in 3rd grade, but in my parent cohort, most families didn't start thinking about it until 5th grade when the lottery opened up, unless they had older siblings. It's hard to engage people when the decision is so far away.

Not one of the AT students was opposed to the move. They clearly said it's "not about opposing it" and the Langston students were "more than welcome" to join them at Grace Hopper. They all asked for more transparency around the details for how the programs will fit in the space and interact and they also asked the board to delay the decision until the planning was better hashed out. None opposed the move.

Not one of the AT students was opposed to the move. They clearly said it's "not about opposing it" and the Langston students were "more than welcome" to join them at Grace Hopper. They all asked for more transparency around the details for how the programs will fit in the space and interact and they also asked the board to delay the decision until the planning was better hashed out. None opposed the move.
