Is it a done deal now?

I guess I would ask why would they do that? It would cause a 75% turnover of the roster which I guess the club does not care about but why? There are also already too many GA teams int his area.

What ECNL club would the 75% move to? VDA can only take so many. Union is iffy. The only other options are Richmond or going to MD - I don’t think too many would find that feasible.

Other sports, hanging up the cleats also options. Not many people take demotions lightly.

FVU is the only club that makes sense. GA has only been successful picking off the weaker teams and now is an over diluted mess in this area. I would argue that MLSN is quickly becoming over diluted in this area making being on anything other than an academy team meaningless. Add 1-2 more teams in the area and they will have achieved just that result. When the boys see that happening the pendulum will swing back and the boys will prefer to be on one of the strong ECNL teams where they can get noticed over being just one more lost boy in an over diluted market. ECNL was worried about over dilution in this market and took steps to reduce that dilution. GA and MLSN seem to be going in the opposite direction.

ARL dad please put down the wine. If this is the case then FVU is stronger than ARL. Would make more sense for ARL to make switch

Because they may not have a choice and will have to pick one. Would they give up their boys side to stay in ECNL or vice versa?

MLSN asks Arlington every year. And every year they say no. I don't see how next year is any different--especially now with so many EDP and NPL teams in the mix. They are financially sound and have good results. FVU on the other hand...

Bethesda SC (MD) — Boys: MLS NEXT; Girls: ECNL.

De Anza Force (CA) — Boys: MLS NEXT; Girls: ECNL.

FC DELCO (PA) — Boys: MLS NEXT; Girls: ECNL.

Tampa Bay United (FL) — Boys: MLS NEXT; Girls: ECNL (and ECNL

Midwest United (MI) — Was dual historically; girls move to Girls Academy in Fall 2025, so no longer ECNL Girls. Boys remain MLS NEXT.

Bethedsa would fit best in ECNL. Others would probably dump ECNL girls if forced.

Midwest United supposedly was kicked out of ECNL -- although they had some decent teams that performed better than the second Hawks team in that conference, so strategically ECNL played politics on it that hurts them more than helps, IMO.

But isn’t this year supposed to be the last leniency year for all mixed clubs? Next year it will be a demand (girls to GA) or leave.

Serious, they already picked. If you want a shiny new team for GA, shopping in the ECRL aisle would be a better fit. Just because you want them to move doesn't mean they have to move.

You can feel the fear and panic of ECNL hats in DCUM lol. I would not ties myself to any league. Strong and weak players are in both leagues or any league by the way. Therefore I don’t see the benefit of sticking with one league or the other or being too loyal to this alphabet soup. Fear and panic are not going to help you. Chillax.

Weird random prediction. Like thinking Man City getting relegated next year.

So how would Arlington deciding to give up high level youth soccer, have most of the top players leave, and promote their second team to first team personally help you? Cause for them, that makes no sense.

Because it’s MLSNext they want. Girls will sadly take a back seat.

Please provide proof that they want MLSN.
