I don't think Dartmouth will move this year. They admitted about 25 off the waitlist last year and offered 30 more acceptances this year.
Unless they get a unexpectedly low yield it's going to be a wash.

Both schools admitted more students this year—150 for Stanford and 100 for Yale so maybe they miscalculated yield.

where did you hear this? I know a kid who has another 5 days to reply to a Brown waitlist offer so it would seem like the current round of offers is not a done deal?

Georgetown offer today after AO checked fin aid status (full pay) ... likely the key selection factor

Stanford is expanding the freshman class by 150 this year, so not just more admits but more spots in the class.

Brown will send email when it is done, assume most schools do same.

How do you know that the AO checked financial aid status?

Brown admitted 100 kids less this year (vs last year following the conclusion of RD) and went to the waitlist for 100 kids last year so it makes sense that they had a bunch of movement. I bet they made 200+ waitlist offers--probably more like 400 if they have 50% yield.

It would be interesting to look waitlist yield versus regular yield. Mine got off a different Ivy (not HYPS) last year and befriended a handful they met on a revisit. They all accepted.
