Makes me question how much money the Obamas actually pocketed from Spotify, Netflix, and the alleged $65 million advance book deal. I've always suspected all those sums leaked to the media are completely fake. This trashy soda thing is the behavior of a couple very hard-up for cash.

They allegedly sold their book rights to Penguin Random House for $65 million cash. There is no way in hell their boring flop books netted that back. So either that $65 million figure was fake or did they have to give back most of that advance? Their podcasts and Netflix stuff also flopped. Who knows, maybe they are in debt to these media conglomerates and need to come up with quick cash.

Agree. I don't think her target population is the typical DUMC parent. Low income kids are huge consumers of sugar-sweetened drinks. This stuff is available at Walmart and Safeway, not Whole Foods. Look it up. Where I live its $.50 to a dollar per container, so comparable to other juice drinks but less expensive than juice. It is more expensive than things like koolaid and soda. Also, you should do your research: orange juice has far more sugar (and also needs to be refrigerated) and far more calories.
