Here is is from DOCTOR Cohen describing why the new updated vaccine is the necessary protection, and she describes the CDC recommendation, and its data-based rationale. She speaks as a Doctor and mother. |
Why are you using “booster” in scare quotes? PP said vaccine. |
Where's the data? |
Exactly. I need more than a youtube commercial. XBB is not in circulation anymore and the research has not been done on effectiveness & risk. Other countries don’t even recommend it for low risk adults, let alone children. |
Where is the data? |
I got covid and flu shot at the same time. I have never had covid so figured I should keep on top of vaccines. |
I have never had covid and don't get boosters. The vaccine doesn't do squat to prevent you from getting it. Haven't you learned that by now? |
The bolded is not an accurate statement. Most studies have found some protection from infection afforded by the various vaccines and boosters. However, that protection may be short-lived or minimal depending on the variant or the level of disease in the community. https://covid.cdc.gov/covid-data-tracker/#vaccine-effectiveness https://ysph.yale.edu/news-article/high-levels-of-exposure-to-the-covid-19-virus-may-reduce-protection-provided-by-vaccination-and-prior-infection-study-finds/ |
She cites the cdc |
It is literally a quote. (Also, am not quite sure what scare quotes are.) |
She's spot on. |
What an incredibly circular response. |
"The CDC" isn't data. They might have data, but where is it? |
There is a "healthy vaccinee bias" which is a big factor behind covid vaccine effectiveness results. People who get the vaccine often have better access to health care, less blue collar jobs, etc. and so have better outcomes. While it seldom gets mentioned, the covid vaccinated also have lower mortality rates than the unvaccinated for non-covid diseases as well for this same reason. |
