Are antivaxxers all just contrarians and conspiracy theorists?

Is Fairfax Underground down today? What's with all of the extra loony posts?

"Rejecting" is an interesting way to spell "too lazy to bother."

NP. Eh, it’s kind of like deciding not to water my lawn when I know it’s going to rain all day tomorrow. It’s not laziness, it’s because I know it’s pointless.

Also, global warming is a hoax because it snows sometimes.

Aw, bless your heart. You tried!

Get all the boosters you want - you’re still getting covid.

Global cooling is no hoax.

Google search:

.nih + spike protein + vaccination + cardiovascular

Plenty of studies (conducted by “erudites” recent and otherwise) that implicate Covid vaccines as having cardiovascular complications.

I listed, and posted, about six 2023 studies and the comment was taken down by a moderator.

Do the research on your own and stop the Ad hominem attacks like (stupid, high school educated etc etc).

Valid scientific information is being actively censored.

I don't want to deal with the super heavy, super long period that comes after each time I get boosted. I got Covid before, Covid after vax, and I'd rather deal a mild cold for a couple days than a 3 week bloody mess. It's no fun running out of protection and having a menstrual accident in an office full of men. Did it 3x and I'm done. My daughter's cycle has been off ever since her vax too.

That's a wonderful and convenient excuse. No way it has anything to do with the entire year children were not in a normal classroom environment.

I shouldn't have said I think ALL the reported learning loss is a result of getting covid and having it affect kids brains. I do think some was from staying home. But kids have been back in school for a long time now and there are studies showing lasting covid effects in kids, so I think there could be some link.

I might! There are no guarantees in life. All you can do is hedge your bets.

It’s the not being in school that’s caused learning loss. And then when they got back to school, a lot of the teachers were not in the right frame of mind to teach again.

LOL. I haven’t heard that in a while. Did a fresh batch of q-anon types just get activated?

Cracking up at that, too. Especially when my high school educated anti-vax relative says it. I'm sold!

Yup, if you want to believe that vaccines contain microchips, there's a YouTube video waiting for you.

Speaking of contrarians, I'm in a hotel dining room having breakfast right now. There is a late middle aged woman wearing a mask. She takes it off to eat, leisurely, at a table closely surrounded by other tables filled with people. She puts the mask back on to go back to the buffet for coffee or a second helping, despite that the food area is far less busy than the dining area.

To me that is paranoid. Not the people refusing to get vaccinated.

Why so much emotional investment in what other people are doing? I don't even really register what other people are doing anymore, whether or not I am wearing a mask at the time.

You know why? Because I'm not deranged about the big boogymen of masks and vaccines.

The difference being that, if she's wrong, she's not hurting anyone. If the anti-vaxxers are wrong, they're unnecessarily putting others at risk.
