Several of these posters are so disgruntled that they always see conspiracies and things to complain about.

Many people seem to think these posts are by a failed board of education candidate who has an ax to grind.

That seems credible, and it feels like the same poster who just repeats the same complaints in every thread.

Yes yes. MCPS has no problems whatsoever and is totally transparent.

MCPS problems are overhyped by the tinfoil hat brigade.
We can all see the numbers that say otherwise and that's just the tip of the iceberg.

Saying we need teachers is blasphemy??? You're nuts and you have no respect for the profession. Alot of people on here are just admin union thugs and Boe scum that do nothing for the safety security and learning of students. Also these folks make teachers lives incredibly more difficult.

Superintendent Monifa McKnight today announced that former Montgomery County Councilmember Nancy Navarro is joining the Montgomery County Public Schools leadership team as Senior Advisor for External Affairs in the Office of the Superintendent.

Navarro served 13 years on County Council, where she represented District 4 and served as Council President multiple times. Navarro is also a former elected member of the Montgomery County Board of Education, where she served as both President and Vice President.

Navarro’s new role will focus on advancing the priorities of the Board of Education and the school system’s key priorities by fostering positive relationships with external partners, engaging in outreach to community stakeholders and collaborating with our Community of Practice as they recommend essential corrective actions across the system.

“Nancy brings exceptional skill and a record of policymaking in Montgomery County on issues that we are now confronting,” Dr. McKnight said. “I look forward to working with her to deepen our relationships across the district that will help us instill respect and compassion in the citizens of tomorrow, achieve excellence for all of MCPS students, and provide a safe and welcoming environment for all.”

While I think someone in MCPS needs to do this work, given that she was entrenched in the school board before, I'm not sure if she's part of the problem or the solution. But she probably can't make things worse than they already are. And she's a Hispanic woman and MCPS desperately needs more Hispanic representation in its leadership ranks so....

I don’t know that we need to continue to racialize everything. We need MCPS to focus on academic standards and preparing our youth to become productive members of our community. We also need a no-nonsense policy forbidding violence and disrespect in the schools.

This.

Let’s embrace diversity and set high expectations for everyone by returning to a rigorous education for all students.

Perhaps send Nancy to observe at St. Jude’s where black and brown students thrive alongside white and Asian students thanks to a curriculum that includes grammar (among other subjects, obviously).

The comparison only works if St. Jude is forced to educate all students who live in a geographic area regardless of their disabilities or gaps in their prior education.

They aren't. Problems kids are summarily expelled, but the RWNJs just wants to gloss over this since they hate public eductation.

I can't speak for Catholic schools but MCPS (which this thread is about) is definitely doing it. And the only place it works well is prison but even then, normal punishments are still doled out. Only progressives would ham-fistedly implement a system like this in place of actual punishments which are what keep bad kids from acting out more than they do. Thankfully, there are very few problem kids at the W schools so RJ's main negative effects aren't felt that much here. I just feel bad for the kids in poorer school with a lot of problems who want to learn but can't because of progressive policies that only work in the land of make believe.
